Regina had been waiting for over five minutes outside the door to the apartment Mary Margaret and Emma shared. She knocked once again, more vigorously than before, and to her surprise, the door moved underneath her knuckles. Emma must have left it unlocked, careless as she usually was. Careless enough to completely forget to check Henry had his coat when he left, which would have saved her a journey and precious time that could be spent trying to win back her son's affection.
Huffing in annoyance, she slid the door open and stepped over the threshold. Now that she was inside, she could hear a muffled noise coming from upstairs. Spying Henry's coat hanging up next to the door, she reasoned that she might as well check and see what it was, after all, it was her job to know everything that went on in her little town.
As she ascended the stairs, the noises became more distinct. Moans and groans and something that sounded like words. She followed the sound until she heard a very distinct 'Regina!' coming from behind a door.
She flung the door open and her face burned bright red at what she saw. Emma Swan, lain across a bed, clad only in a tank top, her hand working furiously between her legs. Her back arched off the bed, eyes closed, an expression of pure ecstasy on her face.
'Regina! Yes, Regina! YES!' The blonde threw her head back, her entire body lifting off the bed.
Regina stood stock still, unable to tear her eyes from the woman in front of her. Her cheeks burned, and an ache started low in her stomach. Had she really just seen the saviour getting off to the thought of her? Half of her wanted to turn away in disgust and file this incident under 'ammunition to use against Emma Swan', but the other half of her wanted to see it again, this time at Regina's own hand.
Emma let out a ragged breath, which brought Regina's attention back to the dishevelled woman in front of her. She decided she could just embarrass Miss Swan now, and deal with those other feelings later. Much later, in her own bedroom with the door locked.
"Having fun there, Miss Swan?"
Emma's eyes instantly flew open. Regina Mills was standing at the entrance to her bedroom, smirk plastered on her face.
"Shit," Emma immediately tried to cover herself with the duvet, "How long have you been standing there?"
Regina took one step forward. "Long enough."
Emma's already flushed cheeks burned as she realised exactly what Regina had saw.
"Long enough to know that the deputy sheriff should be down at the station doing her paperwork, which I expected on my desk," she glanced at her watch, "two minutes ago."
Emma's chagrined expression enough to know she had won this round, she turned on her heel, satisfied at how well she'd handled what could have been a very awkward situation.
