Chapter 1
A blond and raven haired teen could be seen standing across from another in the Valley of the End. One on each statue representing their ideals, the kind of person they were.
''So, this is it?'' The raven haired teen said to the blond as his onyx eyes peered into his blue ones.
''Yes…'' The blond have a slow nod.
''What changed?''
The blond gave a soft sigh. ''I've come to realize that peace is impossible as long as either of us keeps their ties to any village. True, there are no problems now but for how long? How long until someone gets jealous? Right now both of us could eradicate all the villages together with our eyes closed and hands tied behind our backs. It would be ruling out of fear instead of acceptance.'' The blond looked quite upset at that as he gazed up at the sky where the sun was shining.
''Hn, never thought i'd hear any of those words from you, the person incapable of giving up.''
''Heh, i'm giving up, i'm not even attempting it in the first place. Perhaps if i were still as idealistic before all of this,'' He waved his arms around him. ''Had happened you'd be correct but now…''
Sasuke closed his eyes upon him saying that before they re-opened. A single sharingan along with the ringed pattern of the rinnegan in his other eye locked on his form.
''What about your dream of becoming Hokage?''
''I guess that won't happen for the reasons i listed earlier. The other Kages will be almost forced to listen to what i have to say and i doubt other villages like that very much even after what happened. People crave conflict and power and it would only be a matter of time before history will repeat itself.''
''What's her name will be upset about it… Hinata or something?''
''Perhaps but i have no feeling for her so i don't know. I haven't even spoken to her more than a handful of words so i care little. And what about you and Sakura?''
''Hn, as i've told her multiple times i'm not interested in her or any relationship really. It's good to see she has grown but it doesn't change my opinion of her.''
''What will you be doing after all of this?''
''...Not sure, travel the world perhaps? You?''
''I think i'm going to do the same, now with no threats of the Akatsuki i can travel leisurely. However,''
''Yes?''
''We need mess up the surrounding area if we're going to disappear so to say, at least to make it look like something has actually happened.'' The blond created several clones, each which began forming a large rasenshuriken with an element of the Bijuu inside of him before throwing them around. Several large explosions happened and craters formed in the ground.
He activated his chakra cloak as he was covered in gold while the raven haired teen formed his Susanoo as the two began to throw attacks around.
Mountains were sliced in half with each swing of the Susanoo while the blond reduced them to nothingness as he fired of Bijuudama after Bijuudama with no end in sight.
''Sasuke.'' The blond spoke up after a few minutes of reducing the surrounding landscape to nothing but craters. He was currently covered in golden chakra in the form of the Kyuubi with thick black lines running over it.
The raven haired teen, Sasuke, was likewise covered in his complete body Susanoo that hovered in the air with the wings on its back. ''Naruto…'' Sasuke muttered as a black colored chidori formed in his Susanoo's hand.
''Susanoo Chidori.''
Like Sasuke, Naruto too had his attack ready in the form of a compressed Bijuudama infused with wind chakra to create a different form of rasenshuriken.
On an unseen signal the two bursted forward, meeting the other's attack in the middle which after a short power struggle exploded in a massive explosion both heard and felt for dozens of miles to come.
Once the explosion died down it revealed a multi-mountain sized crater in which the two were seen though they looked no worse for were as they both surveyed the damage caused.
''So, this is it?''
''Yeah.'' Naruto replied with a small smile. ''This is it. With this neither Ashura not Indra wins. At least it's a the best situation at the moment. Our fight postponed for good measure.''
''Hn. For now at least. Goodbye, Naruto.'' With that said Sasuke turned around before slowly walking off.
Naruto stared at his back for a moment before exhaling softly.
''You sure this is a good idea, Naruto? To leave everything you worked for behind without telling anyone?'' Inside of him Kurama spoke for the first time since he had arrived her.
''Yeah,'' Naruto smiled softly. ''It's for the best if neither of us were to go back. The power balance completely shifted in Konoha's favor and that's just asking for trouble. Madara was right that as long as winners exist, so do losers. Humans are inherently selfish but that's fine, it makes us who we are.'' He glanced once more in the direction of Sasuke to see his now small form jump out of the crater before he turned around and slowly he too began to walk off.
Ready to start a new journey, one for himself.
An hour later after they left, Sakura and Kakashi arrived at the edge of the largest crater and looked around.
''Sensei, i can't see them anywhere.''
Kakashi narrowed his eyes as he scanned the ground, both in and out of the crater. Clearly a battle had been fought as he noticed the distinct lack of mountains that weren't there along with still flowing lava belonging to Naruto's lava rasenshuriken.
''Neither do i Sakura even though clearly they have fought.'' He narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
''Do- Do you think someone else was here as well?''
Kakashi shook his head. ''No, that would be impossible and you've seen the power those two hold haven't you? I doubt there's anyone alive to match them, especially with her gone.'' He looked up at the cloud filled sky as the sun began to set.
'Is this what you want Naruto, Sasuke? I can't blame you if it is, both of you have gone through so much in a short time…'
Kakashi then turned to his remaining student. ''Let's inform what has happened here, Sakura.''
The girl looked at him in shock. ''Wha, but what about Naruto and Sasuke-kun, sensei?''
''Not sure but we'll discuss that with them as it's clear that they aren't here and there scent is long gone.'' The latter was a lie or rather he wasn't sure but if the two of them indeed did what he thought then he would let them, especially after what they had done.
''A-alright.'' Sakura gave in as she spared the battlefield one more glance before the two of them left.
''I see it happened to you as well.'' Naruto commented upon meeting up with Sasuke who still looked to be around eighteen, much like he himself.
''Yes, i had noticed not too long ago after we parted ways that i didn't appear to be getting any older.'' It had been a century since they had last seen each other, all those from their generation had already died while they looked to be in good health.
The marks on their hand, a Sun and Moon respectively allowed them to sense the other somewhat, knowing that the other was still alive and kicking.
Now that they were in front of another both could feel the power the other held, something that had grown tremendously for both of them over the years.
''So how have you been?''
''I've been fine.'' Naruto answered. ''Just moving around has been surprisingly refreshing. I even passed by Konoha a few times just to see what happened.''
''And?''
''Heh, they've put up statues of both of us though reportedly so have the other villages as they think we have disappeared from the face of the earth. Kakashi became sixth Hokage and after him Sakura surprisingly while Konohamaru became the ninth. I'm unsure what else happened to Sakura as in if she's married or unable to replace you so that's that.''
''Hn, anything else you picked up?''
''Yeah, remember not too long after the war when meteors had started raining down on the planet from the Moon? Apparently some Otsutsuki was the cause of it. I'm not sure what had happened but it seems it had something to do with Hinata. I don't know what happened aside from that though.''
''That was that? I remember having to deal with a few of those large pieces of rock that came crashing down while i was wandering the outskirts of the continent.''
''Mhm, but i take it you want something else no?''
Sasuke smirked. ''Yes, i do…'' An enormous pillar of chakra, purple in color, rose high up into the sky. The ground beneath them cratered as the amount of energy Sasuke released could be sensed all throughout the Elemental Nations.
''I see.'' A smirk of his own formed on Naruto's face as his own golden chakra bursted to the surface similar to Sasuke's own. The already deep crater got even deeper and Naruto clenched his fist as his chakra changed color several times, each according to the Bijuu that were inside of him.
While they hadn't fought all those years ago, they were still Indra and Ashura whose souls had anchored to theirs as fate required them to fight, to go all out yet the outcome was not set in stone.
And while today wasn't that day, their fight tore up the continent like nothing else seen before.
A pair of deep blue eyes gazed at the orange sky that was a result of the rising sun barely visible on the horizon. He took calming breaths as a soft breeze made his hair flutter, reminding him that he should have it cut one of these days as he pushed back a lock that covered one of his eyes.
How long has it been, since the war that decided the fate of the world had ended? How long since he had last met Sasuke?
He honestly hadn't kept up the exact count but knew it had been several thousand years that had passed. Both he and Sasuke had decided to stop fighting directly as the time went. Their powers had continued to grow and if they were to fight they weren't sure if the planet itself could survive a full out skirmish between the two.
Sometime ago, several millennia in fact, both himself and Sasuke had ascended to godhood due to their legend. Their legend that had earned them their status as people prayed to them. A legend about a blond bright as the Sun itself, and the raven fueled by the Moon that had defeated a tyrant Goddess attempting to pull the world into an eternal slumber.
It was a shame however that as time progressed their legend became less and less known to all but a select few that still believed in them who were all located in a island nation called Japan.
It was interesting though, to see how the world had changed. His and Sasuke's earlier skirmishes were a main contributor in how the world today had been shaped as the once upon a time mega continent had weakened due to their repeated battles, which had eventually started drifting apart into several smaller continents.
''Zelretch.'' Naruto mused, not even turning his head as a portal appeared next to him out of which an older man stepped out of.
The older man identified as Zelretch looked around before his gaze landed on the blond clad in black robes that had orange accents on it.
''Why are you here, in my territory and uninvited no less?''
''Ahaha, is that how you greet the person who introduced you to your wife?'' Zelretch asked with laughter before stopping as the blond didn't look amused in the slightest. ''It isn't, right?''
Naruto sighed. ''First of all, you didn't introduce me to anyone as you pretty much dropped me off after telling me something interesting was about happen which resulted in me committing genocide. Secondly, yes it is if you're uninvited which you are.'' He casted him an annoyed look.
Zelretch deflated upon hearing that from the blond. He was one of the very few that knew of his legend and even fewer that knew he was still alive and not sent to the Throne of Heroes like many other legendary figures in history simply because he had never died in the first place.
The blond was also one of the few that Zelretch both respected and feared for he was from an age much older than the Age of Gods. From a time period that was responsible for the distribution of what was now known as Mana though it went by Chakra back then he had learned.
It remains unclear what has happened as there's a massive blank period between Age of Gods and Naruto's own which remains unknown even till this day. Though Zelretch has an inkling of suspicion that the blond knew more than he let on but remained tight lipped about it.
''You know, another Grail War is starting to come up.''
''Again? I could've sworn the last one ended not too long ago. Though i have to say i'm slightly surprised given what had happened last time…''
Zelretch winced at being reminded of the blaze that had been set loose upon Fuyuki after the events of the Fourth War. It was one of the things the Mage Association had done its best to cover up though the blond somehow had gotten a hold of that information.
The older looking man coughed lightly to notify he'd rather change topics. ''So Naruto… have any plans? I mean, how long have you been saddled up in here? You even rejected my gracious offer to join me in messing around with other worlds, something any magus would kill for.''
Naruto's response was a hum, still not looking in his direction. ''That might be true but i'm not a magus, as i've told you numerous times. You know, you've been bothering me for quite some time and i'm fairly sure you know more about me and my story than most so i'm curious; Do you bother the other one as much as you do with me?''
''Ohohoho.'' Zelretch laughed though that didn't gave him an answer. '''But no, unlike you he's much harder to get a hold of. Last time i heard he was somewhere in Europe but i didn't approach him as he's not as welcoming as you are.''
Naruto was unsure if there was some sarcasm in there or not. ''I see. Is there any other reason you are here?''
''Yes. One more thing.'' He turned much more serious than his previous self. ''Lately several reports have reached the clock tower. You happen to have an idea what the cause of increase may be?''
Naruto didn't immediately reply as he closed his eyes for a moment. ''No,'' He answered after a few seconds, his eyes opening and reflecting the orange orb that was the Sun. The mark on his hand, hidden from view, gave a soft pulse which no doubt was sensed by the carrier of the mark of the Moon.
Zelretch glanced at him and hummed before nodding. ''Very well. I'll be off then to terrorize some unfortunate world that catches my interest then.'' With that another portal appeared next to the man which he entered before closing behind him, leaving him all by himself.
He kept staring at the horizon for a couple minutes longer before he slowly got up. Turning around he faced the open door that lead to the bedroom of his current residence he had been living in for the last couple of centuries south of Japan.
It was an area of a couple dozen acres that he had claimed as his own after putting up a high level barrier that was fueled by his own chakra. It had everything from a river than ran through it that provided fresh water and fish to fruit and vegetables that grew in the fertile ground.
Aside from that he had a shrine built for his wife who wanted one which he was fine with. Though the happiness she had radiated after it was made was something he would never forget.
Entering his bedroom he closed the door behind him before softly making his way over to the bed where he was met with the adorable sight of his wife of several centuries clinging to a pillow as everything with exception of her head was hidden beneath the blankets.
Despite it still being rather early she was tired, evident by the fact that she usually wouldn't leave his side for anything really.
Slowly he lowered himself onto the bed. One that was surprisingly soft but not in a way that it would be uncomfortable though. Reaching out he pushed away some of her pink locks that covered her face and his the peaceful expression she wore. The pair of ears on top of her head twitching slightly in response.
''Mhm~'' A soft noise escaped her lips upon his touch as her eyes slowly opened; revealing amber colored eyes that after regaining a bit of focus stared up at him with adoration and unconditional love. It was something that despite having been together for so long still managed to catch him off guard sometimes by its sheer intensity.
''Husband~!'' She chirped oh so cheerfully before launching herself towards the blond who welcomed her with open arms. His chin came resting on top of her head and her single, fluffy tail moved to wrap itself around him in an attempt to be even closer than they already were.
Naruto moved one of his hands which he proceeded to comb through her tail as she held him in a solid embrace. He let himself fall onto his back before pulling her on top of him. ''Morning, Mae-chan.'' He greeted the her warmly.
''Morning!'' She moved so she was sitting on his chest while smiling brightly down at him.
Naruto couldn't help but send her a smile in return as her behavior was contagious. It was impossible not to feel as happy as he was around her. It was something so unique about her.
But as much as he would love to stay like this for the rest of the day he knew it was impossible and so he gave her bare thighs a soft squeeze before sitting up, making her fall on to her back and send him a rather playful glare with her tongue sticking out.
''Sorry Mae-chan but we have stuff to do. We'll be heading outside.''
''Eh, outside?'' The fox girl questioned as she watched as he got up and nod.
''Yeah, i have a feeling the upcoming weeks will be quite interesting and we haven't really left this area since… well a long, long time ago. Aren't you curious to explore? Meet new people? We can even go on dates if you want?'' He watched as her eyes lit up at the latter as he knew that she loved to show off against others while making sure anyone was aware the two were together, whether they asked or not.
''Where will we be heading?''
He turned to her to see her getting up from the bed and began putting on her usual blue top before he replied. ''Ah Tamamo, remind me to get you some more casual clothes once we'll leave. And to answer your question we'll be heading to Fuyuki as another Grail War will be held there soon. I'm sure you know about it?''
Tamamo closed her eyes for a moment as information flooded her mind. Much like Naruto she too had gained heroic status despite not having died either due to his intervention in the event that would have resulted in her dead from what she had understood. At least that's how he explained it to her after Zelretch had shown him other timelines, realities.
Though she certainly didn't mind that he had saved her from her fate. It allowed her to experience what's it like to be loved and love someone else, something she always wanted but never got.
A pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around her and she was pushed against a strong chest, resulting in her being brought out of her thoughts. ''Something on your mind Mae-chan?'' Naruto asked her softly as his breath tickled her ears.
''Nope! I'm just thinking how happy i am with you.'' She turned around in his grasp before standing on the tip of her toes as she planted a peck on his lips before he let her go.
''Mmm, me too…'' He whispered before helping her with her obi that she had trouble with due to her tail. Once that was secured he helped her with her detached sleeves before handing over her blue stockings she liked to wear.
The outfit she wore was revealing yet at the same time covered up enough that it added to her allure. Letting her bare shoulders and part of her thighs to be seen. He very much liked it as it matched really well with her hair, eyes, ears and tails though the latter were only visible to those capable of seeing through her illusions which no regular human was.
Once she finished putting on her stocking she hopped to her feet before skipping to her favorite person who lifted her up as she neared him. ''Let's make us some breakfast okay? We'll leave after that as it should be a couple hour long journey if we use normal means of transport, which also should have us pass by some shops to buy some casual clothing.''
''Okie~'' She let him carry her to the kitchen, relishing in each opportunity she had to touch him.
A flash of silver was all that their eyes perceived. Following it was a moment of realization as their brain finally realized the situation they were in.
Their mouths opening as they let out a silent scream before light left their eyes and their bodies fell to the ground, joining the dozen other corpses that littered the dark and empty building.
A pair of heterochromic eyes, one red and the other purple, stared at the corpse littered ground with nothing but apathy as with a single flick of his wrist his weapon was cleaned from the blood it was previously stained with.
Sighing softly he sheathed it in its scabbard with a soft click that echoed through the building though he paid it no mind. No, instead his attention was aimed at the crescent Moon on the palm of his left hand.
A mark that was pulsing, lightly glowing purple for a couple seconds as he stared at it. ''...Naruto…'' He muttered once its glow died down. He was curious as to why now? The last contact he had with him was in… He shook his head as he was unable to recall their last meeting.
Was it truly so long? Perhaps it was a part of being something of an immortal but time seemed to both pass by in a second yet also go on forever depending on what the situation was.
The two of them had pretty much acted with avatars of sorts. A person that would act in their place as both knew that the chance of them meeting in person and resulting in them fighting was high. And neither could afford to, at least not yet.
Nonetheless, he figured it must be very important if he would want to personally meet up so he would go despite what the outcome might be. Using a shunshin, a technique that had had not lost its usefulness he left the building which seconds later was destroyed in a violent explosion.
End Chapter.
Something a bit different and this is just something i had an urge to write. I'll see how i will continue this as i have other stories to focus on.
Pairing for Sasuke remains open for now as i'm unsure who fits well with him.
