"Severus! Sev! Over here, come sit with me!" Lily smiled at her friend. Beaconing him over to her in Honeydukes. Severus beamed back then quickly walked over to her.

"Hello Lily." He blushed as she handed him an acid pop, his favourite.

"Sev, what happened to you?" Lily asked, putting a hand on his shoulder in concern.

"W-what do you mean?" Severus furrowed his brow in confusion.

"You. After you got sorted into Slytherin, I mean you don't talk to me unless its on weekends in Hogsmead. What happened to us? We were best friends." She pouted, popping a chocolate frog into her mouth.

"We are still that Lily! I just don't want my friends hurting you." He said, now focusing heavily on his Acid Pop.

"They shouldn't be you're friends if they hurt people! You're a good, brave man Sev, don't let your house bring you down." She smiled.

"My house? There is nothing wrong with my house!" Severus snapped.

"There is, you just don't see. They pick on all us muggle borns..." Lily sighed.

"But I don't..."

"Not directly, Sev. You still called people mud bloods, why am I different? What makes me so special?" Lily snarled.

"You are special! I've told you that since I met you! I just...I'm no Gryffindor, I can't stand up to them. I just go with it." Severus sighed.

"You could try! What are we always taught? 'Courage is valued in great Wizards.' You are no Dark Wizard Sev, You could be a great wizard. Just don't hang arounf with that Malfoy boy, I don't like the looks of him." Lily shivered.

"Oh yeah? What about Potter?" Severus spat, red as a tomato.

"What do you mean?" Lily blushed.

"You hated him!"

"I still do!"

"You seemed awfully cosy with him in DADA last week." Lily then laughed.

"Severus Snape, are you jealous? I can't believe you'd get jealous over Potter! I mean if i went for any of them I'd go for Lupin."

"Wait what?" Severus gasped. Lily then bent over laughing.

"Oh my gosh! Your face! Sorry I had to! Ew no, Lupin is gross. But don't worry my friend, I still dislike Potter, I'm just his class partner. Him a Sirius caused to much trouble." She smiled at him.

"Good, I just don't want you mixed up with guys like Potter." Lily then hugged him, "What was that for?"

"For being such a good friend." Lily let go, "Thanks Sev."

"You're welcome." He blushed.

"Hey! Snape!" Lucious Malfoy called, "We need you, now! Get away from the mud blood before she infects you!" The other Slytherins laughed as tears filled Lily's eyes. Her beautiful eyes. Severus then whispered to her.

"I'm sorry, we're still friends right?" She smiled.

"Always."
