Famous Last Words

A SasuSaku one-shot

--

It started as infatuation.

He was cute. He was very very cute. All the girls loved him, including herself. But he would rather brood than pay them any mind, arms folded across his scrawny chest and a permanent scowl marring his baby face.

And then they were put together on the same team, and things started to change a little.

His words were only harsh at first, remarks dripping with poisonous sarcasm. But as they trained together, he seemed to have softened a little.

(Okay, so that was probably just a figment of her imagination. Affection can do that to people.)

But then came the incident, the day in which she protected him and Naruto all alone, and then people came to her aid, but they were struck down. And he was there, black power roaring through his veins and marks licking his skin like a flame. He broke a man's arm, and almost did more…

But she stopped him, enveloping him tightly with and sobbing into his back, "Stop it Sasuke, please, please stop…."

And he did.

(and the thought still sends shivers through her every night, Sasuke, so filled with bloodlust and hatred…)

After that, things began to change. He was a little softer around her once she swore not to tell anyone. It was only a little, but still…

God, she loved him. She loved him even more than before, his good side, even this newly discovered power-hungry side.

And he just up and left, even though she sobbed her confession to him, tears streaming down her porcelain cheeks and her fists shook and she cried and cried…

But he left anyways. And even now those final words echo through her head.

"Thank you…Sakura."

Was that exactly what he said? I don't think he said her name, but whatever. I don't really care at this point.

My first foray into SasuSaku…did you like it? I really would like a review! (puppy eyes)
