Chapter 1: "The End?"

We did it.

After all the losses...

The sacrifices we had to make...

The goddess Ilias has...finally...been defeated.

Soon the legion of angels and experiments that she commanded will surrender as well. For what is an army without a leader?

"This is for everyone..." I whispered as I slowly pulled out Angel Halo from Ilias' body. As I moved away, her mutated form started bloating up before exploding in a hail of flesh and feathers covering the entire battlefield.

"Don't let your guard down!" Alice warned as she stood close to my side, her magic still in place despite being subjected to the full force of Ilias' power numerous times. I only nodded in reply as I put my guard up and readied the spirits once more.

Any twitch, shallow breath or faint heart beat and we would unleash another attack in full force. No chances, her reign of terror on our world ends here.

...

...

...

After a few minutes of watching for any signs of life, the rain of flesh and feathers inevitably cleared up. Our eyes immediately homed in on the goddess' original angel form on the ground. Her body riddled with wounds, all of which pale in comparison to the large gash in her abdomen.

Thinking quickly I immediately stretched my senses to feel any sort of life or energy in her body. I relaxed my combat stance when I found none and I went to inform Alice. The both of us sighed in relief as we managed to confirm her death.

"Crap..." I couldn't help but let out as I sagged to the ground, my tired legs finally giving out.

"Huh?" I expected to hit the cold hard ground instead I felt a lithe arm hold me up.

"Your stamina needs work if you're tired after a fight like that." The Monster Lord said with a hint of disapproval, her small smile showing that she was being sarcastic.

"Really? I suppose a fight like this is nothing for someone like you?" I decided to play along as I gave a small grin of my own.

"Naturally." She declared puffing her chest out with mock pride.

"Oh? Weren't you sent flying across the world on your first fight with Ilias?" And in turn land near my village, where we inevitably met. Thus set off a chain of events that would change my life forever.

"Hmph! I told you before, she got lucky." Her fake irritation did much to lessen the already dying tension.

"Luck?" I questioned.

"All the luck in the world."

"Serious?" I asked having a bit of difficulty at keeping a straight face.

"Dead serious." She answered, her face trying to hold back a laugh.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Hehe..."

"Pfft..."

"T-t-th-i-s is...I-i-i'm s-s-sorry...this really isn't the place to-hehe..."

"I-i-diot y-y-your the one whose pfft! g-g-giggling..."

"Bwahahahaha!"

"Hahahahaha!"

Whether it was the joy of victory or the absurdity of our mock argument, I will never know. All I do know is that we were both so happy that we just couldn't control ourselves. Before I knew it both Alice and I fell to the ground as all tension disappeared and we were allowed time to recover from our wounds.

"Whew...we did it...we actually did it." I said, not quite believing those words.

"Hard to believe that its actually over." The monster lord stated an uncharacteristic look of disbelief on her face.

Can't blame her for thinking that way, this victory was still a little hard to digest. After everything we went through to reach this point, the enemies, the bleak situations and of course a full-on goddess to contend with. Against all these odds we still managed to triumph in the end.

"Weren't you always confident that we would win?" I teased with a small grin, it was one of the things that helped kept me going.

"I never lost faith Luka, but even I had doubts...doubts that we would pull through." She admitted.

"..." I was left speechless, gobsmacked even.

"There were too many factors involved, so many things that we had to do to win. If we made just a few mistakes then none of this...none of it would come to be. I-i-i-I know its not like me but..." She confessed, stuttering at the end.

"Alice." I whispered. Not once throughout my entire journey had I ever seen her so fearful...so uncertain.

"Sorry, I know its not like me but there was so much at stake. Everyone that we helped, my beloved subordinates, the kingdoms, hell the whole world was at risk. All of it could have been lost and put under...Her control." Her clenched fists showing just how much our last battle meant to her.

"Yeah, I dread to think of what could have happened if Ilias had her way." We would lose all of our will and everyone's lives would be re-purposed to worship her forever. A barren husk of a world filled with mindless zombies.

Brr...just the thought sends chills down my spine.

"Still, its not good for you to bottle all of that up Alice. We're partners remember? You should have relied on me more." I stated, feeling a bit guilty for not seeing how worried she really was.

"I couldn't think that way because if we hesitated for just a moment it would lead to our downfall. I'll admit that I was wrong for not telling you but something, something managed to keep me going. Something that I could not bear to lose or else I would have lost the will to live." She added as she slowly looked at me, her golden eyes took a strange glow.

I could only smile, already knowing what she was referring to. What else could it be other than our dream of coexistence.

"Y-"

(Crash)

Her words were cut off as more and more cracks appeared around us. Crooked black openings staining what used to be a pure white environment. Pieces of 'Heaven' all fell around us as this plane of existence seemed to deteriorate.

"We should probably get out of here first." I hurriedly stated as I looked around for any exit.

"Tch! Don't worry Tamamo and Micaela are working on it." She reassured me, looking a bit irritated at being interrupted.

(Crash) (Crash)

"I hope they get here quick." The tremors were getting worse.

"They will." The uncharacteristic look of worry on her face did not help.

My already dwindling confidence continued to drop after surveying our surroundings once more as I found no other paths or exits. The only other thing here was my partner and the dead corpse of the goddess. My eyes lingering on the latter as I felt a little drawn to her, not sure why?

"Luka?" Alice questioned as I stood up.

"I'm just going to take a look at something. It will only take a minute." I reassured her as I started walking towards the fallen goddess.

"I'll come wi-Gah!" She tried to stand up but the damage she took from Ilias attacks finally took their toll on her as she shakily fell down to her kn-uhm tail.

"Take a rest Alice, it won't help anyone if you're overexerting yourself." I reasoned as I gently patted her shoulder, forcing her to sit down.

She looked ready to protest but my pleading look managed to convince her.

"Just...just be careful." She advised as she relented.

"Aren't I always?" I responded with a brief smile to her worried gaze.

"Idiot..." Hehe, there's the old Alice.

Man, this protective side of her's was going to take some getting used to. I know that she's been treating me a lot better since our first fight against Ilias in her castle. It's just that I was so used to the usual snarky remarks or sharp insults. I could only shake my head at how much our relationship has progressed since we began this journey. From a barely tolerable partnership to an almost inseparable friendship. No, perhaps something even more...

(Sigh)...I will have much to think about when we get back to our world. For now let's just hope Ilias has a tool or something that can help us in our situation.

It didn't take long before I reached her corpse, my whole being couldn't help but shiver at her dead eyes. They looked disturbing more so than her usual crazed look. It was frightening to feel her gaze on me. My image staring right back at me, it was as if I was trapped inside. Again it was...really unnerving to say the least.

I kept telling myself to relax, as I tried to hammer in the fact that she was dead. Fortunately the prospect of being trapped in this crumbling world helped me focus on the task at hand.

"Sylph, Gnome, Undine, Salamander." I called out.

"What's up Luka!" The little sprite of wind yipped cheerfully, flying around with glee around me.

"Hey..." The small girl greeted with one her dolls in her hands.

"I would have preferred to stay in your body instead of this wretched place." The slime-like lamia remarked, leering in disgust at our surroundings.

"Is that Ilias? Ho ho ho...how the mighty have fallen. Mind if I leave a few more battle scars, Luka? Its payback for what she did to Heinrich." The fire elemental asked as she grinned viciously at the fallen Goddess' form.

I couldn't help but smile as I witnessed the four spirits manifest their physical forms. Their colorful personalities perfectly matching their elements.

"That's going to have to wait, I need your help right now. The whole place is going to come down soon and as far as I can tell, there are no exits. I need all of you to search around for anything that can help." The tremors were getting stronger and stronger by the minute, the last one almost tilted whatever it is we were standing on.

"Let's do it!" Salamander burst into flame as she rocketed from corner to corner.

"Roger!" Slyph saluted before disappearing in a gust of wind.

"Ugh! The sooner we leave the better." Undine slithered away as her form turned to liquid.

"Okay..." Gnome followed suit as she got spawned a host of dolls carrying her away.

I temporarily stretched the link between all of us to give them more movement. My spirits rose as I saw their forms zipping around, the situation not looking as bad as before.

Now then, I focused my gaze on the mastermind of this whole thing. Steeling myself I crouched down to investigate her corpse. From what I could tell Ilias still wore her usual dress that had various accessories. I tried to look for anything of significance however my search did not yield much as the only thing that seemed remotely important was her necklace. The red jewel shining brightly in the midst of a small puddle of blood from her wounds.

I moved my right hand to retrieve it...

(Ba bump)

...

(Ba bump)

No...

(Ba bump)

She...

(Ba bump)

Impossible!

I threw all caution away as I placed my head on her chest to confirm my suspicions.

(Ba bump)

My fears were unfortunately proven true.

"She...She is still...alive!? Ha...ho...How!?" I whispered, my eyes scanning for any source of recovery magic.

I entrusted myself to the flow and attained a serene mind once more, this time I added my angel energy to further sharpen my senses. I expected some sort of hidden device or entity that was helping her. Instead I found something much, much worse...

"Oh no..."

There was a small almost imperceptible ball of energy that was being gathered within her. Its size did not reflect the amount of energy that it had. It was mind boggling as I found that it rivaled the full force of a Quadruple Giga, perhaps even surpassing it. I could not help but gasp in horror as I slowly realized what she doing.

It was a last ditch effort, she is drawing forth all the energy that was keeping Heaven stable and mixing what's left of her life force. Inputting all of it into a bomb...one that could potentially take the whole world with her.

I tried to find a weakness or something to stop the flow of energy but as more pieces of heaven started to fall around us, it dawned to me that there was nothing that I could do to stop what she was doing.

Damn it! It can't end like this! We have come so far! The dream of coexistence is so close!

I refuse to believe that we will see our end here!

There has to be a way!

We...

Maybe we...

We could...

...

...

No...

There is one option...

I slowly turned to face my other companions. The spirits were doing there best as they searched every nook and cranny for an exit. Meanwhile Alice was meditating, her mouth moving as if she was talking to someone. Perhaps she established a telepathic link to the outside? Whatever the case, my plan doesn't need anyone else.

It can just be me.

...

...

I was numb to everything as a single option was laid out in front of me. The only path that I could take to salvage this situation and save everyone.

[Sacrifice]

There was nothing else I could do...

I slowly stood up, gone was my desire to live but my determination to save others is burning stronger than ever before. I took a few steps away before gathering all the energy I had into angel halo. Raising the conduit for my power I stabbed it into the ground and willed it to take the form of a small circular barrier. Trapping myself and the ticking time bomb behind me.

"Luka?" My partner stopped meditating as she hurriedly slithered towards me growing more and more frantic as she closed the distance.

"What are you doing? Wha...Why did you create a barrier?" Her tone shaking as she immediately tried to get inside but was denied entrance.

I remained silent as I went to sever something I wish could've stayed forever.

"Gah!"

"No...!"

"What is the meaning of this!?"

"The hell was that!?"

The connection I had with the spirits...

"Luka why did you release us?" Sylph asked with teary eyes filled with fear and sadness.

"How...could...you?" Gnome surprisingly let out, her emotionless gaze was replaced with a panicked expression.

"I do not understand, what is going on?" Undine followed up.

"Oi Luka what the hell are you doing!?" Salamander shouted as all four spirits rushed to my side. Their forms kept outside as my barrier stopped them.

I couldn't help but shed a few tears as that ever present connection slowly disappeared into nothingness.

"What is happening!? Answer me Luka!" My partner cried out as she pounded the barrier, the worry in her voice was very evident.

Before I could reply a dark portal opened, out came the four Heavenly Knights and my aunt Micaela. They all sustained some injuries but it seems that they recovered a bit. Their presence complicates things but I was still happy to see them, because this will be the last time I will get a chance to.

"Sorry it took so long, it was tough to establish a connection even with Micaela's help. But the portal is ready and we can all leave this hell hole for goo-" Tamamo trailed off as her eyes widened, immediately realizing the situation.

I half expected her to charge right at me but Granberia beat her to the punch, as she ran towards me with frightening speed. The Swordswoman of Fire swung her signature great sword with all her might. Everyone expected the blade to cut right through the small shield I created. But it did not, as it held strong against her fearsome strength. A resounding boom echoed as it impacted my shield. The dragonkin was sent flying a few meters away as a burst of white energy harmlessly returned the force back at her.

"Damn it!" She cursed promptly propping herself up with her sword before immediately charging at me again.

"Granberia, please st-"

"Shut up!" She shouted as she kept on trying to break my shield, each blow echoing around us.

Her fellow heavenly knights followed suit as they too understood what I was doing, my Aunt Micaela stayed where she was as she tried to gather whatever energy she had to help. Tamamo went to transform into her Ancestral form but it was all for naught as she expended most of her energy in our previous fight against Ilias. The small fox used her freakish strength to try and smash my shield.

On the other side Erubetie was letting loose a barrage of slime attacks while Alma Elma unleashed a flurry of deadly Martial Arts moves I have never seen before. Despite their prior injuries their combined strength was still as formidable as ever. Unfortunately, the barrier remained unbroken despite their efforts.

"Release this shield, right now!" Alice demanded slowly enunciating each word. I closed my eyes as I felt her use the 'Eyes of Temptation' to make me submit to her commands.

"I am sorry..." Was all I could say.

"I won't let you do this Luka! If a sacrifice is needed then let it be me! I have lived long enough while you still have a future get back to." Tamamo tried to reason.

"You don't have enough power to handle this." I answered back, putting more and more energy into the barrier.

"There has to be another way! You can't just give up!" Erubetie pleaded, her stoic voice nowhere to be found.

"This is the only option we have left, the only one where everyone else survives." I tried to reason.

"It can't end like this! Think of all the people you will leave behind. The world still needs you! We still need you!" Alma Elma cried out.

"..." Nothing...there is nothing that I could say.

"God damn it Luka!" The Queen of Succubi cursed as I heard one of her blows impact my shield.

...

...

"I am sorry..." I droned out again not being able to give them any good response. All I could do is to gather more and more Heavenly energy to strengthen the barrier. I felt my whole body shake as the essence of Heaven engulfed all of my senses. Unbelievable strength flowed into me as I slowly opened my eyes.

The sight that greeted me almost broke my will...

"L-l-luka..."

My partner's face was dripping with tears as she tried to subdue me with her eyes. The energy I gathered negated its effects.

"Alice...please understand...I do not want to do this. I...this is the only way." My voice breaking as I could not bear the pain of hurting her. It was my fault that she is like this...

I hurt her...

(BAM)

My eyes widened as a small crack appeared in the barrier before it was slowly repaired.

"You hypocrite..." The monster lord venomously called me as she threw another punch which caused even more damage.

"..."

"You told me that self-sacrifice is not the way but your doing the exact same thing I did!"

(BAM)

"Alic-"

"No! You will never convince me to stop. You never gave up on me and I sure as hell will never give up on you! I don't care what it takes, I will save you!" She declared as she unleashed her full arsenal of attacks. All of which spurned the others to double their efforts. The barrier was starting to have difficulty keeping its form.

"Alice..." I wanted to say something but I felt a familiar presence call out to me from behind. I turned around to the sight of Ilias' necklace glowing a bright yellow. I infused more energy into Angel Halo to make it a good anchor point for the barrier before moving to inspect the accessory. I could only gasp in shock as I clasp the red jewel.

Souls...so many souls laid within it...begging to be released. I felt familiar ones like Lazarus, Heinrich and Shirone but there were also people like Alice's Mother, Merlin and Karen. And...

...

No way...

I thought...I thought that they were dead!?

My parents...

Their souls were there too...

...

I don't even know where to begin, so many questions. Why does Ilias have this? How did she gather all of these souls? For what purpose was she going to use them?

Her dead eyes would not offer me any answers so I just assumed the worst. I immediately removed the jewel from her necklace, holding the precious treasure close to my chest before infusing it with my own angel energy to create a small opening in the middle of the gemstone.

Not wasting any time I threw it outside of the barrier to prevent any soul from being trapped with me. It was just in the nick of time to as lights of varying sizes started to rush outside of it. Most of the lights went through the portal while some of them stayed here.

For a moment the group stopped and inspected the phenomenon. As the light died down Micaela gasped in surprise. There was a man and woman who bore similar features to me. Both of them were a little groggy before recovering. More and more familiar faces showed up as each light that remained in heaven started to dissipate. They were all confused and tired but they too recovered and soon gained recognition of their surroundings.

"Luci...where are we?" My youthful looking dad asked.

"I'm not sure, dear...wait! I know this place...this is...this is Ilias throne room!" My angelic mother realized.

"We are in heaven? How the hell did we get here!?" He shouted with wide eyes.

"I don't kn-Micaela!? Is that you!?" Mom cried out.

"Marcellus! Lucifina!" My aunt cried in return as she enveloped them in a hurried embrace.

"Marcellus!? Yo- your alive!" Lazarus' eyes widened in shock as he approached my dad who was equally as surprised to see him.

"Ugh! I feel like I got hit by a centaur..." Heinrich groaned as he rubbed the back of his head, gone was his corporeal form.

"Heinrich!" The four spirits cried out in joy as they rushed towards him.

"Girls!" Was all the Angel Killer could say before being glomped on all sides by his former companions.

All around me were many more cries of happiness and reunions. It was a joyous sight one that I burned into my memory. for a moment my situation was forgotten until…

"Mom!" Alice cried out.

"My little Alice it has been a long time." She replied happily as she went to hug her daughter.

"Now is not the time! I need your help right now!" she shouted as she continued her assault on my shield. All attention turned to me. I could only give them a weak smile, slowly bracing myself for the inevitable avalanche. I had expected a bit of confusion but it seemed that new arrivals immediately understood the situation and reacted accordingly.

"Son!" My father cried out as he tried punching the wall with great force.

"I will not allow another sacrifice in my family ever again!" My mother followed with high-level angelic spells blasting against my barrier.

"Kid I did not die just to see you do this." Lazarus spoke as he followed my dad's lead.

"Luka!"

"Luka Stop this at once!"

"Please come out."

The sheer force of all their blows overwhelmed me but I managed to weather the storm. The cries of those I helped in the past shook my will but I forcefully remained strong. Releasing the barrier would only lead to the world's destruction. I looked back at Ilias and saw her body glow brighter and brighter as her collected energy started to fluctuate. I then returned my focus back onto the group as I put everything I had into the barrier. I could only sigh in sadness, as I put more and more power into it hoping that it will hold up until the end.

It was a beautiful sight seeing the faces of old enemies and friends who are now working together. It's a damn shame that I can't even appreciate it due to my impending doom. Despair filled me as I finally accepted that I will not live past this day. That only thing that I could do was bid my last farewell, it is the least that I can do...

"Lazarus, I know we haven't had a good start. We were at each other's throats and we didn't exactly have a good history with one another. However, I just want you to know that if things had gone differently you would have made a great uncle." I finished, shaking my head in regret at what could have been.

"God damn it kid!" Tears fell from the grizzled mercenary as he doubled his efforts. I gave him one last grin before moving on turning my head to another important figure in my life.

"Auntie Micaela, thank you for being there when I needed you. Our time together was short but I still treasure it all the same. I love you Auntie...I wish it didn't end this way. "

"Luka..." She bit her lip in response as she tried to not weep instead the former Seraphim furiously gathered as much energy as she could to support the others.

"D-d-dad...Mo-mom..." My voice could not help but break as I tried to reign in all the emotions that I was feeling.

"Don't start son we are getting you out of there!" He declared his purple eyes burning with determination as he sent punches that could have crushed boulders.

"Stop this, we can help you! We...can...we can finally be a family!" Mom added as she let loose a flurry of Angelic spells, beams of light exploding all around me.

"There are so many things I want to say...I-i-i-I...I don't even know where to begin...Hua. I hate that time is so short...so all I can tell you is...(Sniffle) I am...so very grateful that I at least got to see the both of you one last time. Mom...Dad...I l-love you!" I said trying my hardest not to cry at the mere sight of them.

Their attacks only grew stronger as their determination to save me increased, the desperation in their eyes growing even more.

I moved on to the four heavenly knights who not only helped me become the man that I am today but also opened the world up to me. The lessons they gave me will forever remain in my heart.

"Alma Elma, it was fun fighting with and against you. I have always found your lazy yet exciting demeanor interesting to be honest and all the fights we had were amazing. Thank you for helping me get stronger as well as being my friend. You will always be the number one succubus in the world."

"Luka…Now is not the time, if you wanna compliment me do it out here!" She said in a shaky voice while tears cascaded down her face.

"Tamamo…. I know that I'm pretty much a hypocrite at this point. But I know it will work out in some way. That aside thank you for helping me in those desperate situations, without you I would not have reached this point. I'd have hoped to touch your famous tail but unfortunately we will not meet again." I ended with a sad smile.

"What are you talking about? You are not going anywhere! You still owe me!" The usually calm yet jolly fox commanded as she looked ready to bawl her eyes out while throwing punches that could destroy mountains.

"Erubetie…I am proud that you were able to look past your hatred. If there was any doubt that peace would reign in our world, it disappeared after you gave up your revenge and worked to create a utopia not just for your race but with us humans. You gave me hope Erubetie for that I thank you, it is a pity that I won't be there to see it but I know for a fact you will be successful." It wasn't evident at first but her form shook as she doubled her efforts.. Slime tears flowed down as she started blasting the barrier with awesome force.

"LUKA!" She shouted as wave after wave of slime desperately trying to find whatever opening it can through my barrier.

"Gran-"

"Save your words for our next spar Luka because our fight is not yet finished!" The strongest Dragon swordswoman declared while swinging her great sword.

"I had a feeling you would say that, very well I will not say good bye but I would just like you to know that fighting you has been an honor. Thank you…for everything."

It was almost imperceptible but I saw a lone tear come down from her right eye.

With all the Heavenly knights done, the only person left was…

"Alice"

Her beautiful amber eyes lined up at mine. I solidified the barrier and walked towards her, putting a hand on the wall. She put hers in front of mine it was almost as if they were touching. The quote "So close yet so far" could not have been so true at that moment.

"Luka, a world without you…is...is…a world I don't want to live in!" Her voice cracking with each second as tears continued to flow from her eyes.

I moved closer to the barrier and gave her a sad smile. For a moment I thought of opening a bit of the barrier to give her an embrace but decided against it, she would pull me out in a second.

"Alice without you I would not have made it. You taught me everything and gave me a true purpose. For all of that I cannot hope to thank you enough…It has been...one heck of an adventure and I am glad…so very very glad that I had you there with me, every step of the way." I could not stop my own tears from falling as I continued

"Please...please don't do this..." She started to whimper as her eyes pleaded to me. My will could not last as my heart broke at the sight.

I tried holding myself back but my instincts took hold of me as I opened up the barrier for a split second and kissed her. I never thought those romantic stories my mom read to me when I was kid were true. Time really does stop when you are with the one you love, the heaven's disappeared as well as everyone in it. It was just me and Alice, the feeling of her lips on mine was intoxicating as I didn't want to let go.

I wanted this moment to last forever and ever. I wanted to have another adventure with her. I wanted to see our dream realized. I wanted to see the world that we created. I wanted...

I wanted...

...

I wanted to see the future with her, I wanted to be with her to the end.

...

But I can't...for it was not to be...

It took everything I had to let go. As we separated Alice was left in a daze before I gave one last smile before saying...

"I love you..." Then with that I got back in the barrier just barely missing Heinrich's hand trying to pull me out.

"Damn it, I was just a second too late…" The Angel killer mumbled before looking at me with pleading eyes.

"Sorry, I have to do th-"

(Splash)

"GAH!" Blood exploded everywhere as I felt my stomach get pierced by a large object. Everyone outside stopped attacking for a moment as they cried out my name in panic.

I gasped as I noticed the unknown object trying to go outside. I quickly unsheathed my iron sword and jammed it right in the middle of the strange object. It looked like a large arm filled with tentacles that had numerous wounds. It looked like hand that got stretched and enlarged until it formed into a spear. I traced it back to the source and saw the now awakened Ilias breathing heavily with her arm outstretched. She had a strange look on her face one that was filled with content and despair. The goddess slowly stood up, blood flowing out of her body in thin lines. Probably due to the energy she was accumulating within her. I felt a chill creep up my spine as her manic expression looked even crazier than before.

"My existence is over, no one believes in me, no one cares for me anymore. But… at least I have you…Luka…you will still be with me…forever…that's all I want…it is the only thing I ever wanted." The obsessed tone when she said my name made me move away from her a bit but that failed as I flinched in pain due to the arm sticking out of my abdomen.

That declaration greatly confused me while causing a mixture of disgust and anger to the others outside.

Why would she say that when she wanted the whole world to worship her?

(CRASH) (CRACKLE)

My thought were interrupted as the entire place shook once more and small chasms started to appear. This piece of Heaven would soon turn into nothingness, trapping anyone left inside it.

"Go! Get out of here!" I yelled unfortunately no one heeded my words.

"NO!" Alice cried out. The others refused as well but despite their bravado, fear started creeping in the atmosphere as more and more cracks started appearing. It was only a matter of time but I fear that before they act it will be too late.

So I tried thinking of ways to push them out towards the portal Tamamo and Micaela created. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to gather enough energy to generate any force or spell to send them flying but then I remembered Ilias' arm. Since I'm a holy being that means I can take in the same energy she has, at least the light element of hers. Hopefully, the physical connection means gathering enough energy will be easy. I focused as much as can despite the pain and thankfully I managed to get just enough. I looked at all of my friends and people that I saved. Every one of them still trying to rescue me...I took in all their features and faces one last time.

"After this, the world will finally achieve coexistence. A place of peace and understanding where all are welcomed. I want all the humans, the monsters and even the angels to enjoy peace together. Live happily and if I see anyone still beating themselves up or not moving on I will haunt you guys from the grave. So please...accept this final request from me. Live...Live a good life..."

Alice's eyes widened as she noticed what I was about to do.

"LUKA!" She tried once more to reach me, her palm managing to push through the barrier making it stretch inward until it almost reached me.

"Good Bye…" Those were my last words to her before a beam of pure light moved all of them to the portal.

With that all of them were pushed out, just before any of the falling debris hit the ground. I sighed painfully as I cut off the appendage that pierced me. Thankfully It seems that the energy I absorbed was healing me as well, my stomach wound disappeared immediately. Ilias' arm fell to the ground before it dissipated into smoke. A new arm suddenly popped into existence but only fell limp. I looked at the fallen goddess her manic expression on her face made more threatening with a smile was impossibly wide.

She kept on mumbling "You are mine forever." And "We shall be together in eternal bliss Luka in a world where only we exist." Disgust and pity filled me as she constantly repeated herself.

I noticed that our area started to lose control and Ilias' energy was reaching its climax. Holding my hand out Angel Halo flew towards me and I grabbed it. Feeling comfort in the weapon that has been with me throughout my entire journey. I then took up my fighting stance one last time, focusing only on Ilias.

She responded by spreading her arms wide as if ready to embrace me. We both charge at one another, my weapon cocked back ready to pierce her. The goddess with open arms hoping to embrace me before exploding. Everything felt so slow but I knew that it would all end soon enough. As I took one final step before leaping towards her.

"This ends now!"

"Luuuuuukkkkkaaaaaaaa!"

I struck first feeling my sword hit her chest before an explosive force knocked me back causing me to see no more.

"It's over…" I managed to croak out before my world faded into darkness.

"Hmm...that is quite the combination, I will make sure to greet them personally. Thank you for informing me."
