A/N: Hi. Here's my new story I hope you guys like it, this idea came to me at 6am and I wanted to write before the idea slipped from my mind so here I am writing this super early. The story isn't set in England but I decided to make Elena be from England. Enjoy! Also just so you don't get confused, UCAS is basically how we get into university. We get UCAS points and we need a certain number of points to get in.

"But this isn't fair!" Elena whined at her mum. "Why do I have to go to this stupid summer camp, I haven't done anything wrong." She continued, Elena generally wasn't a bad teenager. Sure, she had come home drunk before but those times were very rare. The only bad thing Elena's parents could say about her was that she got distracted very easily, which meant she didn't do so good in her classes and now she was on the verge of not getting into a university.

"Because, you don't have enough UCAS points to get into university and this summer camp will give you the points you need." Her mum tried to explain to her. This was a good thing, and it was her plan to make Elena see that.

"How does that even work, you get given points for singing around a campfire." Elena sarcastically commented, she didn't want to leave her friends behind since it was the last summer they all had together before they all left for different universities. They had planned to go shopping, spend days at the beach, and talk about boys all day long. She couldn't do that if she was stuck at some summer camp.

"The UCAS board sponsors this place, so as long as you show good behaviour you can get points for just going. It sounds really fun Elena, and I don't want you to miss out on a good future just because your friends distract you too much." Her mum pleaded with her, Elena always had a soft spot when it came to her mum. She had always been close to her growing up so she never liked feeling like she had disappointed her.

"Fine, but when I get back I'm never doing any chores again." Elena stated and her mum just rolled her eyes at her.

"Great, you leave in a couple of days and you get back a week before university starts. Oh, and it's in America. Bye." Her mum shouted as she walked out the door leaving Elena stunned. Her mum knew she would never agree to going if she knew it was in America, she had played her like a fool.

"Fucking hell." Elena sighed to herself. She loved England, mainly London, she didn't want to leave the busy city life behind. England was great because if you ever got sick of the city life you'd only have to drive half an hour to find some random fields. The city was great, but something about being alone in the countryside for a few hours always made her feel at ease. She could always escape if she wanted too, but she doubted there was anywhere she could escape too on an American camp site. She hated her life right now.

It was the next day and now Elena was quite excited about her trip, mainly because she found out her friend Caroline was joining her. Caroline and Elena were extremely close, which meant she was the best person to be coming with her. She was thankful she was, because she couldn't survive at this camp if she was alone. Apparently they were going to be the only 2 british people on that trip, so that should be fun. Elena groaned, knowing that for the first few days people were just going to be commenting on her accent and asking her to say certain words. She hated meeting Americans because for some reason they all did this. Elena found out that the camp site was somewhere in a place she had never heard of, she looked it up though and she had to admit it looked like a beautiful place.

Elena started thinking about her future university life, she was lucky that a few uni's told her that they had saved her a spot. They said that she was bright and showed promise and as long as she got the UCAS points she needed they would be happy for her to join. They also said she didn't have to decide what she wanted to major in until she got back, so that was something she didn't have to worry about for a while. Elena would be staying at camp for roughly 2 months, they would get back at the end of august just in time for uni. At first Elena didn't like the long time of being away, worried about her parents and her brother, but Caroline convinced her that they're going to have the best BFF summer ever. The only sad thing was that Bonnie wasn't going too. Her, Caroline and Bonnie were like that amazing trio, even though lately Bonnie had become quite distant. They still loved each other though, and they were the best of friends.

Caroline told Elena she was making it her mission to find Elena a summer fling, Caroline had to be away from her boyfriend for 2 months but she said just because she couldn't get any action doesn't mean Elena had to suffer too. Elena had just laughed at her though, she wasn't really looking for a fling. Her first time with Matt went horrendously bad and they've barely spoken a few words since. They technically weren't even broken up but they both knew it was over. He was just too embarrassed to face her.

Elena had finally finished packing, she had spent the full day minimising her choices since the camp site didn't let them take too much. So she kept what she took simple, clothes, sleep wear, swimsuits, her toothbrush and more. She took a few personal items too, like jewellery and things she didn't feel safe leaving. It was 9pm and Elena was determined to go to sleep, she would have to meet Caroline at 5am tomorrow so she wanted to get a good nights sleep. She knew she had a long journey ahead of her and she hated travelling so she knows she wouldn't be able to sleep on the plane, she didn't get travel sick or anything she just hated being sat down for that long.

It was 10pm when Elena finally felt herself drift off to sleep, she dreamed of what she thought her time at camp would be like. Elena would never admit this, especially not to her mum, but she was actually quite excited.

"Hi!" She heard Caroline shout as she walked into the airport, they were going to meet at their local coffee shop and travel there together but Caroline was running late so she didn't have time. Elena suspected she was late because of Tyler, and she was right. They needed to say one last special goodbye, and apparently that took all morning.

"Caroline stop shouting it's too early." Elena groaned, it was 6am and that was way too early for her. She normally woke up at 10am when she didn't have school, this was a drastic difference for her. However, Caroline did not feel tired at all. She was sad to leave Tyler but she was excited for this camp, she just had a gut feeling that it was going to be the best summer of their lives. And Caroline's gut feelings were always correct.

"Come on, we better go get on our plane to America." Caroline sang and Elena couldn't help but smile, she loved her best friend and her energetic personality. Even if it did get a little too much sometimes. They both walked towards the boarding gate after getting everything checked, their luggage has been taken and now all they had with them was their bags and boarding pass. Twenty minutes later both Elena and Caroline were sat in their seats on the plane. Elena hated planes so she was dreading the 8 hour flight. Caroline was excited though, she had never been on a plane before so this was a whole new experience for her.

"I'm going to listen to music for an hour, to try and forget where I am. Is that okay?" Elena asked Caroline.

"Yeah sure, I need to catch up on Gossip Girl anyways since there's going to be no service in camp." Caroline reminded Elena and Elena inwardly groaned. She made a mental note to download a few more songs before they lost service, she didn't need service to listen to music after all. She didn't like the thought of being disconnected from the world, but at the same time it also sounded strangely liberating.

A couple of hours had passed and Elena was bored out of her mind, Caroline had fallen asleep next to her and Elena was jealous. Elena knew she couldn't sleep sat up, she never had been able too, it was too uncomfortable. Luckily for Elena no one was sat on the third seat next to her, which meant it was just her and Caroline on their row of seats. Elena sighed and opened netflix, she figured she could watch a few movies to pass the time.

Elena thought about how the people at camp would react to her and Caroline, especially their accents. Elena and Caroline had different accents, Caroline had lived in London in her life but Elena lived up North for the first 10 years of her life. Living in London for 7 years meant her Northern accent was no longer noticeable but you could still tell a difference between her and Caroline. Elena used more slang words than Caroline did too, Elena hated her accent but she was always proud of being from Northern England. It was beautiful and at first she hated leaving, but she knew she had too. Her dad got an amazing job opportunity he couldn't pass up, and later on Elena realised moving to London was the best decision for her too. She had great friends now, and she loved them all so much.

A few more hours had passed and Elena had been listening to her playlist on shuffle, Elena was the type of person who would listen to the same song 127 times in a row and she wouldn't get tired of it so that didn't bother her too much. Caroline finally woke up when they only had an hour on the plane left. For that hour they chatted and meaningless different things, finally when they landed Elena felt like joining in with all the people who were clapping. But Elena never understood why people did that so she didn't.

Elena's mum told Elena that when they landed someone would be at the airport to pick them up, he would be one of the camp counsellors for the Summer. Sure enough when they walked out of the airport, someone came up to them.

"Elena and Caroline?" The tall stranger asked. They both nodded. "Hi, I'm Damon and I'm here to take you to the best summer of your lives." He said enthusiastically, his excitement made Elena smile. Clearly this guy really liked this camp, which led Elena to wonder if he was the owner.

"If you're here I'm sure it's going to be an amazing summer." Caroline said too loudly and Damon laughed, Damon knew the effect he had on most ladies so Caroline's comments didn't come as something new to him.

"Caroline!" Elena shouted whilst shaking her across the head which made Caroline yell and slap her back. Elena knew that Damon was attractive but she could also tell he was way older than her, she wasn't looking for a fling with anyone never mind someone years older.

"Get all your slaps out now, because you can't do that at Camp." He joked making both of them smile. They started walking towards Damon's car. "There's going to be an hour drive before we get to the camp site so get comfortable." Damon told them as they both got in the back. Elena tried her hardest to keep herself from rolling her eyes, she hated travelling so much.

The hour passed strangely quick, Elena felt herself getting slightly nervous and she didn't know why. During the car ride Damon made casual small talk, asking where abouts in England both of them were from, obviously detecting their different accents.

When they pulled into camp both Elena and Caroline gasped, the camp site was so beautiful neither of them could put it into words. They were both speechless as they observered their surroundings. Yeah, they would definitely like staying here.

"Everyone got here an hour earlier, since they didn't have to travel far, so because you're going to be the last ones to arrive we're going to get straight into things. Is that okay?" Damon asked them.

"Yeah that's fine, is everyone here American?" Elena asked and Damon nodded. Great, people were going to be asking about their accents for days.

"Think we can put on an American accent all summer?" Caroline whispered.

"I don't think so, Damon probably would drop us in it sooner or later." Elena whispered back and they both giggled.

They got out of the car and not a lot of people noticed them, they were all too busy talking to each other.

"I'll show you to where you will be staying so you can put your bags down, then we will come back here. Since there wasn't a large number of people wanting to come here this year we put everyone into rooms of 2, so you and Caroline will have your own room. In your room will be 2 beds and a bathroom, however there's only a toilet in the bathroom so if you want to shower you'll have to go to the community shower. The shower will only be open from 6am to 6pm so make sure you go in those times, and there's different showers for the boys and girls." Damon told them, drilling their heads with information. To be honest neither of them were paying attention, they were too busy looking around but they both got the key information they needed.

Damon then walked up to a small cabin and unlocked the door, they both walked in and immediately dropped their heavy bags. They didn't have enough time to look around before Damon was telling them that they needed to go back to the main area. Damon hurried off ahead of them leaving behind just Caroline and Elena.

"I'm kind of nervous." Elena told Caroline, she didn't know why but she always found herself nervous around new people, even though she was really confident within herself.

"Me too, but we have each other." Caroline told her and they linked arms. They finally reached the group and they sat down at the back. A few people were looking at them but it wasn't anything major. Damon then started talking, he basically just repeated the same thing he said to them before.

"Since this camp was voluntary you don't have to do anything, you could just stay in your room all day if you felt like it. However we have a different range of activities set up throughout the day and we urge you to participate. Okay one final thing, I know this is going to be awkward since all of you here are either 17 or 18, but there is zero sexuality activity rule here. Nothing is allowed, if we catch anyone doing anything they'll be serious punishment." Damon said, suddenly sounding serious.

"Well there goes your hopes of finding me a summer fling." Elena said to Caroline. But Caroline just scoffed and shook her head.

"He said here, he didn't say the forrest, or the lake, or the waterfall, or the pool." Caroline said making Elena roll her eyes at her. Damon then told them all to use this time to get to know each other before they had to go to dinner. It was 5pm and dinner was at 6pm meaning they had an hour of socialising.

"Do you think we can just sneak back into our rooms before anyone notices our accents." Caroline asked as they both stood up. Just as Elena was about to say yes, they noticed a few girls coming their way.

"Hi!" One of them said, way too enthusiastically "I'm Rebekah, this is Katherine and Lexi. Us 5 are the only girls here so we thought we'd come save you before any of the boys tried to come up to you." Rebekah continued, Elena was glad they all seemed to be nice.

"I'm Caroline and this is Elena." Caroline spoke for the both of them.

"Oh wow, your accent is so nice. Where are you from?" Lexi asked.

"England." Elena smiled.

"I know what it's like to have a different accent, if you couldn't tell I'm Australian, so I'll protect you from anyone who keeps asking you about it." Rebekah joked, her Australian accent was very heavy and both Caroline and Elena were relieved not to have the only different accent there.

"There's about 15 other boys here, not all of them speak though so we'll only introduce you to the ones who we know and trust." Rebekah said, Caroline and Elena smiled. They felt like they had new friends already. They walked other to a group of boys, there was 4 of them there, and they were all very attractive. The girls were too, and Elena wondered where all of these models came from.

"Everyone, this is Caroline and Elena. They're new here." Rebekah spoke for them.

"I know they're new, I would have remembered their pretty faces." One of them spoke while smirking at both of them.

"Nik!" Rebekah shouted. "Please ignore my sleazy brother." She spoke whilst hitting her brother in the arm. "This is Niklaus, Kol, Elijah and Stefan." She introduced them all. Elena felt her heart stop when she looked at Stefan, all of them were attractive but he was beautiful. Stefan was staring at Elena too, he was taken back by her beauty. Caroline noticed something between them two and started smirking to herself. A summer fling was definitely going to happen.

"Stefan is my boyfriend and the rest of them are my annoying brothers." Rebekah stated, well there's that. Elena couldn't help but feel disappointed, knowing that Stefan wasn't single. She didn't know why she felt like that, she didn't come out here looking for anything. Elena and Caroline hadn't spoke yet, they didn't want people to fuss over their accents but they knew they had too sometimes.

"Hi, it's beautiful here." Elena spoke first, Elena could feel her Northern accent coming out strong. For some reason it always did that when she was nervous.

"Your accent." Stefan spoke. "You're from Northen England?" Elena was surprised that he knew that, not a lot of Americans knew they were different English accents. They all just presumed that they all spoke like the Queen, so it was strangely nice for someone to know the different accents.

"Yeah, I lived there until I was 10, then I moved down to London where I met Caroline." Elena explained and Stefan smiled, she liked his smile.

"We're just gonna go change into something more suitable for this hot weather. We'll be right back." Caroline told them and started dragging Elena away. Elena was glad Caroline suggested this, her jeans where beginning to stick to her legs from the heat.

"We totally have to break Stefan and Rebekah up." Caroline whispered to Elena. Elena shouted at her but she didn't take any notice. Elena couldn't help but feel like Stefan was going to change her life somehow.
