A/N: So, this is an idea I had while listening to music. This is EXTREMELY loosely based on Sugarland's song "Baby Girl". (Yes, I'm a country music fan. Yes, I realize that this makes me very odd in a lot of people's eyes xD ) I like the song, I like Hermione, so there you have it. Enjoy!

*DISCLAIMER: I don't own "Baby Girl", Sugarland, any kind of music, Hermione, Hogsmeade, Mr. and Mrs. Granger, an owl, sanity, sugary dental floss, publishing rights, a big enough iPod, or pretty much anything else.

Dear Mum and Dad,

We had our first visit to Hogsmeade today! It was so fascinating to be surrounded by all of the Wizarding culture. I'd even say it was as good as our holiday in France this summer. I feel so lucky to be able to be exposed to all of this. I think it's making me a better person, not to mention I'm understanding so much more about cultures and traditions. Thank you for making a lot of it possible, I love you guys.

The only problem is…I think I'm going to need more money! Could you please send some? I bought so much in the village. And I know you're probably looking at this exasperatedly while you're reading it, but you have to understand: It's not everyday that you wander through a village entirely devoted to another culture! I felt like Dad, the time he went to that Dental Health Convention. Everything was so fascinating. They have a post office! It's full of cubbyholes with owls in them, every size to send whatever you want! There's a wonderful little café that sells the most unique-tasting tea, and a pub to keep you warm after a long day of shopping (don't worry, I didn't buy anything that I shouldn't have).

And the sweetshop! Again, don't worry, I didn't buy too much there, and of COURSE I brush and floss every day. And I promise not to make myself sick with it all. But still, there were so many varieties of the strangest sorts of candy! Even you guys would have loved it, even though I know you don't approve of sweets. There's actually something like a candy dental floss. The sugar is so finely spun, that it's really a work of art more than a piece of candy. And the best part is, there's a charm on it that prevents your teeth from rotting! I enclosed some – I thought you might enjoy it.

I think I'm going to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas again this year. There's just so much to do in preparation for my classes, since I'm taking so many. I also should be here for my friend Hagrid – he's terribly worried about one of his pets, and they mean everything to him.

Speaking of pets, Ronald is forever getting on me for letting Crookshanks roam around the common room. He thinks Crooky has it out for his pet rat, Scabbers. I don't understand why he's so concerned – the silly thing is useless. And it looks like it's getting ill as well, which doesn't help matters. I've tried to tell him that all cats chase rats, but he just won't understand. Any advice (especially from Mom)?

I miss you both so much, and can't wait until I can see you again. If you think of anything that you'd want me to pick up for you in Hogsmeade the next time that we go, let me know. And always remember, I love you more than anything in the world.

Love, your baby girl
