Chapter 1

A New Beginning

Lincoln tapped his pencil against his desk and looked at the clock waiting for it to strike 3:00PM.

"I wish my life was full of excitement." Lincoln thought.

"Yeah, that'd be great." He said with smile.

"Lincoln loud!" Mrs. Johnson shouted.

"Wai-what?" Lincoln said as he returned to reality.

"Where you paying attention to the board?" Mrs. Johnson asked.

Lincoln sat up and placed one hand on the other. "Of course I was!"

Mrs. Johnson rolled her eyes. "Oh really? What were we learning about?"

"Oh I umm." Lincoln stuttered.

"Our ABC's?" Lincoln said with a forced smiled.

"WRONG, it was math!" She shouted.

All the kids began to laugh as Lincoln sat in shame.

"Only if I was paying attention." He thought. "This wouldn't have happened if I paid attention, now everyone probably thinks I'm a loser."

Lincoln set his cheek on his desk and drifted to sleep."

Captain, get up what are you doing?" A man in a Green cloak asked.

Lincoln stood up and backed away from the unknown man. "Who are you?"

The man gave a confused face and frowned. "There's no time to mess around, the blue devil's are invading!"

"Blue devil's?!" Lincoln shouted.

"Yes, find your squad and met me at the front lines. Be careful, Captain Lincoln." The man said as he grew wings from his back and jumped into the air.

"Captain Lincoln, my squad? Where is my squad?" Lincoln asked himself.

Lincoln looked around and saw something pop up in his line of vision.

"To locate your squad bring out your map by sliding two fingers left of your face." The voice said.

"Two fingers?" Lincoln brought two fingers up and slide them down and a map appeared.

"Good, you've found the map! Now to locate your squad find the people symbol on the map!"

Lincoln looked around until he found a small person like symbol waving their hands.

"Good, you found your squad! Now set a waypoint and follow it to locate your squad."

The map closed and Lincoln's vision was equipped with sword durability in the bottom right corner and a health bar at the top of his vision. And a minimap in the top left corner.

"Now it may take some time to access your wings, but in the meantime you can use the speed ability.

"How do I use that?" Lincoln asked.

The voice giggled. "Easy, you can use it by accessing your map then sliding the options to access your abilities."

"Huh, so it's like all located in my options."

Lincoln tapped the speed then a question popped up.

'Are you sure you want to use this ability?'

Lincoln tapped yes and he got launched forward into some rubble until he got back up on his feet.

"When using abilities be sure to check your surroundings to see anyone or objects that get in your way."

Lincoln looked around and began to run again when he noticed his stamina and health bar go down.

"When running for too long you're health will go down when you run out of stamina."

"Ok, I guess I should sit down and rest up."

Lincoln walked in a nearby cave and sat down, his stamina bar slowly went up.

"You're health and stamina bar only goes up to 30% percent without meds or liquid stamina."

Lincoln checked his inventory and saw no meds or liquid stamina. "Umm, hey voice, I don't have any of those."

"My name isn't 'voice' first of all. It's Mia, and I'll send in a supply drop for you."

"Really? Thanks voi I mean Mia!" Lincoln said as he hopped up.

Lincoln heard a loud bang and looked outside the cave then saw a crate, he walked over observing it. Lincoln opened it and saw yellow liquids in a jar along with a med kit.

"Also, I've put in some weapons so you can protect yourself."

Lincoln lifted a layer of the wood and saw a rifle and sword.

Lincoln tapped the sword and Mia spoke. "Devil's tooth has now been added to your inventory!"

He then grabbed the rifle. "LR-300 has now been added to your inventory!

Lincoln checked his inventory and looked at his weapons.

"Those stats are good! Lincoln said as he added it to his weapon wheel.

Lincoln clicked on the LR-300 and it appeared in his hands as he fell with it.

"In order to carry heavy guns, you must train and become stronger by using power ups or working out." Mia said as she put the gun back in Lincoln's inventory.

"Oh, I guess I should take these meds anyways." Lincoln said.

Lincoln clicked the liquid stamina and a timer popped up showing a 10 second countdown.

"After the 10 seconds are done you will have full stamina." Mia said.

Lincoln nodded.

"You now have been replenished with full stamina." Mia spoke as she added another to his inventory.

"Alright, I should get going now, my squad needs me!" Lincoln said as he stood up.

"That's the spirit, go rescue your squad and fight off the blue devil's!" Mia shouted.

Lincoln ran towards the waypoint and could see someone waving their hands in the distance.

"CAPTAIN! WE NEED HELP!" Lincoln heard from the distance.

Lincoln ran faster than he ever could, he arrived to see his squad being attacked by giant blue creatures.

"Must be the blue devil's." Lincoln said as he equipped his sword.

"Captain, I'm so happy you made." The scout said.

"Leave, take my squad my and go!" Lincoln demanded.

"But captain you can't fight them alone!" The scout shouted.

"DO AS I TELL YOU RIGHT NOW!" Lincoln screamed pointing his sword at him.

"I'm sorry captain, NOAH, SASHA LET'S GO!" The scout said.

Lincoln's squad ran away and didn't look back.

"It's just you and me."

The blue devil roared and stomped it's giant claws.

"AHHHHHHHH!" Lincoln drew his sword and ran towards the monster head on once they were face to face they both jumped and clashed in mid-air.
