The sun was setting and the final rays of sunlight illuminated the office of General Mustang. The infamous womanizer, who was always very lazy to do any work at all and was always nagged by Lieutenant Hawkeye, was actually sitting and doing his work!
He seemed depressed...There was a valid reason for his depression and the reason was that his Lieutenant hadn't come to work that day. She rarely ever missed a day of work and whenever she did that she would give a prior notice to him. He felt there was something gravely wrong with her. And he was desperate to find out what had happened to her. That was the main reason why he was in a hurry to finish his work.
There was utter silence in his office and it seemed the complete opposite to what it usually is. Usually Havoc would be there smoking and complaining about his love life. Then there would be Fuery who would try to fix some electrical appliance or something like that. Breda would always be munching on something and the general would always be on the phone with one girl or the other.
Then Hawkeye would come barging in after her break and fire the hell out of everyone in there and make them get back to work.
But the situation at the office today was so ironical! Everyone was doing their work quietly even though Hawkeye wasn't there! Since all Mustang's subordinates were also worried about her, they were helping Mustang out so that he could go to her.
Havoc began to stare at Mustang and noticed that he looked very different from his usual self. He was tired, sweating, nervous and anxious. He kept looking at his watch to see the time. He looked worried. So Havoc broke the ice and said, "Sir, why don't you go and see Hawkeye? We'll handle the work here."
Mustang looked up at him, he sighed and said, "Okay fine. I leave the work upto you. I'm leaving."
He got up, took his coat and practically ran out of the office. He quickly got into his car and drove straight to Hawkeye's house. He drove like a mad man and he reached the place in flat 5 minutes! He ran up the stairs and reached her door. He knocked the door and saw that it was open. He went in and saw that everything was pitch black. As soon as he entered Black Hayate started to bark and he led him to the dining table.
Mustang switched on the light and then saw that there was a note kept on the table. It said:
"Looking for your Lieutenant? Well I can tell you that she is not here but she's with me...
Jealous, are we? Come get her at Florington Garden at midnight and don't get anyone with you..."
Looks like it was going to be a long night...
