Hey Bela, Happy Birthday! Since I didn't know what to get you, I decided to write you a short one-shot about a pairing that you like! Now you know why I asked you yesterday! But, you didn't reply fast enough so I just went with this one. I was going to make some cupcakes and bring one to you, but we didn't have cake mix :( But hey! This is so much better! Anyway, here's your 2013 birthday present from me to you! Hope you like it, and I love you!
2013~HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELA~2013
"Make a wish, Renesmee." I bent over to my daughter's level, watching as she smiled and closed her eyes, clasping her hands together. After a moment, she blew a gush of air to the candle, extinguishing the flame.
Edward bent down on her other side. "What did you wish for, love?" he asked. Nessie giggled, swiping her fingers over her lips in a 'lips sealed' sign. My husband looked slightly confused, looking at me.
I laughed, amused at his lack of simple knowledge. "You're not supposed to tell anyone your wish, or it won't come true." I explained. He smiled, and if my heart was still beating, it would have stopped.
"Mommy, can we cut the cake now?" Renesmee asked. Around us, the wolves stepped a little closer, obviously eager.
"Of course." I whispered. I quickly grabbed the knife, putting it in Nessie's hand. Edward and I wrapped our hands around her smaller one, and we made the first few slices in the cake. Our family and friends applauded.
Soon, we handed Jacob the knife, and he and Nessie cut up the cake, handing them out to the wolves.
As Edward and I exited the house, I turned to him. "Having a nice day?" I asked teasingly. He laughed, a sound that still never stopped having an effect on me. All day, he had been extra loving and happy. Kissing me out of nowhere, playing the piano with a more pronounced air of contentment.
"How could I not be?" he jumped high up into a tree. I followed him, and we landed on a sturdy branch, making it our seat. "It's amazing Bella. When I first met you, I never would have thought that I would ever marry you, let alone have a child with you. A year ago, I didn't think that you would survive the pregnancy, or that I would love Renesmee. But here we are, and we are happily married, with a daughter that I love. It's her birthday, and both she and you are alive. We are a family, and nothing has gone wrong." he stared at the sky, a seemingly permanent smile on his lips. "I lo-"
I cut him off with my lips, and the surprise sent him and me off the branch, tumbling down the length of the tree, but I never stopped kissing him. The two of us landed in the ground, making a loud thud. I think I faintly heard a tree splintering and falling, but I was too busy to notice.
Slowly, I peeled the invisible barrier from my mind, letting all my thoughts be public to him.
I love you. A kiss.
I love you. Another.
I love you. And another.
Finally, we broke apart, laughing. I looked around, and laughed again when I saw we were laying in a crater, probably created by our landing.
"I love you." I murmured against his chest. One time out loud wouldn't hurt anyone. His chest rumbled as he chuckled.
"I know." I felt his lips on my head. "I love you too." he whispered.
We got up and began to walk towards our home, where our family was.
