A/N: The characters don't belong to me, just my whacky ideas (but Ava Connelly does belong to TessaStarDean).

Flack stormed into his shared office and sat down at his desk. He slammed his file down and yanked a drawer open to look for a pen. Danny knocked and walked in while he was scribbling his signature on the bottom of several documents.

"Hey Flack, you got a minute?"

Flack glanced up at his friend briefly, then looked back down at his work. "Not now Messer. I got stuck doing patrol today and I've already got half a dozen reports to file."

Danny shrugged. "Okay, well find me later then."

Danny turned to leave but bumped into Ava before he was ten feet away from the door. "Whoa, sorry Connelly. Oh, hey, look out for that one," he gestured over his shoulder into the office. "He's not pleasant today."

"Yeah, I know. He was being a jerk this morning while we were on patrol. Kept cutting me off in the middle of sentences and walking away without a word."

"Well have fun with that," Danny said sarcastically as he headed down the hall.

Ava walked silently into their office and sat at her desk, logging onto her computer. She sat patiently as Flack stood and pulled open a filing cabinet drawer. Once he slammed it closed again, he sat in his chair with a thud and hunched his shoulders over his work.

Ava sat back in her chair and smiled knowingly. When Flack looked up at her with a glare, she only smiled brighter.

"Connelly, do you need something, or are you just gonna sit there and stare all day?"

Ava opened her top drawer and pulled out a candy bar, tossing it to him. "You didn't eat breakfast, did you?"

Flack squinted at her as he peeled open the candy bar wrapper and took a bite. "Your fault."

"How is this my fault?"

"You were the one who suggested a movie last night."

"And you were the one who fell asleep," she grinned.

Flack swallowed the bite of chocolate in his mouth before arguing. "You do that on purpose."

Ava feigned hurt. "Do not. I only proposed laying down and getting comfortable on the couch while we watched our movie. Not my fault that you zonk out every time. And I did offer to make you breakfast."

He stuffed the rest of the candy bar in his mouth and wadded up the wrapper. "Yeah, but then I woulda been late to work. Didn't want people askin' questions."

Ava leaned forward, resting her elbows on her desk. "You could start answering some of those questions when people asked, you know?"

Flack's eyebrows raised, causing Ava to chuckle.

"I'm serious. It's not worth you being a grumpy ass all day just because you missed breakfast to keep us a secret." She shrugged. "Besides, I think…I think I don't want it to be a secret anymore. I want us to be official."

"You sure?"

Ava bit her bottom lip a little and nodded.

"Then we're officially no longer a secret. And I would officially like to have a lunch date with my girlfriend, 'cause I am starvin'."
