This is way before Manoso Family Christmas. A funny little story with Gracie and Ellie. Sophie doesn't speak in this but she's about a year old..Gracie is 5 and Ellie is 3.
"Ella Marie, Mommy is gonna be soooo mad at you! Momma, come see what Ellie did! Ya ain't gonna like it, Momma! "
"Its your fault too, Gracie! You helped me do it."
"No I didn't!"
"Yes ya did!"
"No I didn't!"
"Yes ya did!"
"Girls, stop arguing and tell me wha…OH MY GOD! Tell me who did this to your little sister? Well?"
As look at my two oldest angels(yea right) I'm alittle at lost for words at what to do. They have completely painted their 3 month old sister, Sophie in colors of red, blue, and yellow fingerpaint. I know it'll wash off, but I'm just not sure of how to handle punishing them. Oh because they so deserve to be punished but looking at them with their dark chocolate eyes and long dark curls with their lightly caramel colored skin, I just don't know what to say. I really want to laugh. I mean come on its washable fingerpaint. But I know if I laugh, they're just gonna do it again.
"We both did it, Momma. We colored Sophie to make her look pretty. We thinked it be a nice surprise for you and Papi."
"Is that what happened, Ellie?"
"Yes, Momma, I was in charge of the blue paint. Cuz blue is my favorited color."
"Thank you girls for telling the truth, however I can't let this go unpunished. You are both told to only paint on paper never on anything else."
"Momma, you only telled us to not paint on walls and tables, never on Sophie."
My oldest daughter had a point. I have never told her not to paint on Sophie. Damn..she's good. Now what do I say.
(Ranger POV)
"Babe! Girls! I'm home! Hello!"
"We're in here, Carlos!"
I can't wait to see my girls. Being out of town away from my family, makes me realized how much I really love them. Maybe now more than ever. Dios Mio!
"Dios mio! What have you girls done to Sophie?"
"Well Carlos, Gracie and Ellie were just telling me because we have never told they couldn't paint their little sister, didn't mean they shouldn't. What do you think?"
What do I think? Damn..I can't help but laugh. They always seem to surprise me when I at least expect it.
"Girls, please go sit in the living room while your mother and I talk about this."
"Yes, Papi"
"Yes, Papi"
I wait for them to disappear around the corner and I let go.
"Carlos, stop laughing before they hear you." She was laughing to. It was hard not to.
"I can't help it, they're so damn clever and smart. Sophie does look beautiful in blue, red, and yellow paint. But then again she is your daughter so she would look beautiful no matter what. Any ideas on the punishment?"
"No I haven't a clue, Carlos. I'll go clean Sophie, you go deal with your daughters."
"Thanks, Babe!" She would leave me to deal with those two. I can never stay mad at them.
Later that evening…
"It's all your fault, Gracie!"
"No it's not, its yours."
"No it's not!"
"Yes it is!"
"Girls, stop arguing and keep cleaning."
"Yes Papi."
"Yes Papi."
The perfect punishment it seemed was to have them clean the bathtub after Steph finished giving Sophie a bath. Blue, red and yellow paint was everywhere. It came off easily on Sophie but on the tub and floor it did not. Steph cleaned the floor so the girls wouldn't hurt themselves, but the tub was all theirs. It was going to be a long night. The tub was well almost clean but now Ellie and Gracie are complelety covered in blue, red, and yellow paint. Ugh!
Please review..I might continue if I think its worth it. I have a hard time getting my ideas on paper(or computer screen). Thanks! Any advice is helpful too.
