The veil. The one that had give him both his greatest hurt ang greatest happiness. He had lost love, lost the family he never had the chance to have. But what he found was just as good. He found his friends, he found the remnants of his life. He found The chance to live again.
He fell through the gauzy black material. He sensed the call of kidred spirits. He felt the joy of fidig somethig long lost. Then he knew the anguish of losing something he never had to lose in the first place.
He was welcomed by two friends of his that he didn't know were there. Lily and James greeted him with sad eyes, sympathetic smiles, and open arms. It was them who told him that his previous life was gone. Them who comforted him through the grief of a chance ended before it had a chance.
A heavy heart was his for a long time, an eternity to those behind the veil. And the he was found. It was he who greeted Moony at the Veil of Life. It was he who told his godson that he could meet his parents. And he who found love in the arms of a friend he thought beyond him.
And then Sirius Black knew that there was life beyond the afterlife. You just had to wait for it to find you.
