Kurt wondered what would happen if he could go back.
What would happen if he forgot all of this and rewound the clock, went back two years and never let any of it happen? If he drove up to that stupid school in stupid Westerville - with it's stupid walls and stupid halls and stupid, stupid stairways - and just decided, No, not today.
What if he'd never walked down those stairs, never looked in those eyes, never taken that hand? What if he'd never listened to the silly words of a stupid, stupid boy - a boy singing him promises of escaping, of happiness, of love. What if he'd just reconciled himself with the mediocre high school life that he was destined to have?
What if he'd just been okay for two more years?
If he did all that, would he be able to be okay now?
