Danny, Sam and Tucker were walking down the hall of the school talking about the lack of ghost attacks lately.

'Guys I'm not gonna lie, the lack of ghosts is starting to scare me.' Danny stated

'Why?' Tucker asked 'If anything that's a good thing.'

'Tucker, have you never heard of the saying "the calm before the storm"?' the female of the group asked.

'Thanks Sam, that makes me feel a lot better.' Danny sighed and rubbed his face. 'Something big is gonna happen and it feels like it's gonna happen soon.'

All three of them look at each other for a moment as the tension started to build in the silent empty hallway, when suddenly;

'Fenturd!' They all jumped and turned to see who it was, and as Danny expected they saw Dash stamping his way towards them. A sick smirk made its way across his face as he stopped in front of them.

'Ready for your three o'clock.' He asked cracking his knuckles. Danny's eyes widened and he started to panic before he shouted something out;

'Hey look there's a supermodel.' He pointed in a random direction.

Dash turned his head to where Danny was pointing saying; 'wha-?' Danny reacted as fast as he could bringing his leg up between Dash's as hard and fast as he could, Which resulted in a sickening THUD, Dash fell to the floor moaning piteously. They stared for a moment before Danny yelled 'Run.' They sprinted out of the hallway and out of school and to Danny's house which was closest.

'What the hell Danny!?' Sam got out between pants. 'Why did you kick Dash in the balls?'

'Well I weren't about to become pretzel boy again.'

'Become what again?'

'Oh… you weren't there that day. You see Dash saw Danny and me talking and decided to bully Danny again and he somehow twisted Danny into a pretzel shape without breaking his bones. It was pretty cool.'

'Tucker what the hell man, that was not cool and it was downright painful and I thought that we had agreed to never talk about that again.'

'Chill Danny I know that it was painful but at the same time it was amazing that he did that without breaking any bones.'

'Yeah, yeah.' Danny said. He stood straight and stretched his arms while opening his mouth to speak but before he could a faint blue mist, which could only be seen if you were concentrating came out of his mouth.

All three of them said the same thing at the same time 'Ghost.'

They rushed down into the basement of Danny's house, where the only other man made Ghost Portal existed. The yellow and black striped blast shields separated and a male ghost in a black suit and white shirt came out of the portal.

'So,' He said. 'This is the famous Fenton portal; I must admit this is quite impressive.' He looked around and saw Sam, Tucker and Danny, who was in his ghost form. 'Please relax Daniel I am only here to deliver a message.'

'From who?' Danny demanded.

'From your friend Clockwork.'

Danny powered down and looked at him confused 'Why would Clockwork give me a message?'

'Well it is not so much as a message as a warning.'

'Well what is the warning?'

'Patience is a virtue Daniel. Right the warning is; 'The darkness is retuning. The ultimate challenge awaits.' He said you would be able to figure this out by looking forward and backwards at the same time. Well I must leave now, Daniel be a dear and open the portal for me please.' Danny nodded dumbly and activated the portal. 'Thank you Daniel, I am sure that we will meet again.' And with that he left.

'Who was he?' Sam asked. 'I mean we didn't even learn his name.'

'I don't know, but what I want to know is what the warning meant and why Clockwork didn't tell Danny in person.'

'Tuck that is a very good question.'

A/N: What did you think of that beginning to the story? Also to everyone that has reviewed, thank you so much it means a lot that you like my work but if people could give me pointers on how to get better that would be much appreciated.
