Disclaimer: I own the story. Nothing more...though I wish I did...
Just a fluffy little SoRiKai story. :D Inspired by chapter one of NinjaSquirls' "Foxglove and Nettle Burning."
I apologize for the suck-ish-ness in advance, though it's not as bad as some of my stories...

An Unusual Pinky Promise
It was just another normal routine, the three eight-year-old children sitting on the beach together as the sun set and as the light blue color of it morphed into oranges and yellows and pinks, the stars and the moon coming out as the sky slowly darkened. Just a normal night.
However, a normal night always involved some sort of outrageous or just plain ridiculous comment or question from Sora, which had not yet come. His abnormal silence throughout the night was beginning to worry his two friends. Until he began speaking.
"Hey guys?"
"Yeah?" the children both responded in unison.
"...Could you promise me something?"
"What is it Sora?" The auburn-haired girl had just a hint of concern in her voice.
"Will both of you marry me when we grow up? You know, so I won't have to lose you?"
At this, the little girl sat up and gave him a very strange look. "What are you talking about Sora, you can't marry two people!"
"But…why not?" The brunette sat up looking at his friend with a confused face.
"Because! You're not supposed to, you can only marry one person!—"
"Sure." The silver-haired boy finally spoke up, still not taking his eyes off the sky.
"Really?!" Riku looked over to him and nodded. "Of course."
"How about you Kairi? Will you?!"
"But you can't marry two people!" Sora's eager face drooped a little into a frown.
"That's alright," Riku sat up along with the other two, "We can change the rules when we grow up so we can."
Kairi still looked a little confused but...she sighed. "...Ok, I guess."
"Yay!!" Sora, overcome with joy, basically tackled the girl in an attempt at a hug, then proceeded in pulling Riku into it as well.
"Pinky promise guys?" The brunette held out his pinky finger, Kairi let a full-on grin slip onter her face as she twisted her pinky with Sora's, while Riku gave off a small, soft smile—which was pretty rare for anyone but them—and wraped his little finger around his two friends'.
Yup, just a normal night.
