Advent One : End of a Good Life
I woke to the sight of my sister, Grace, staring at me from across the room. She was really creeping me out. "May I help you, miss death stare." I said with a sassy tone.
"I'm just excited today!" she said unreasonably loudly.
"For what exactly?" I arced my eyebrows in suspicion. She got really mad before she answered.
"Ugh, YOU said you'd teach me about botany and medicine today." I could tell she was extremely pissed off.
"Aw crap." I muttered low enough so she wouldn't hear me. "Well I'll just ask Mom for some things and we'll get started." I walk out of the room and an unsettling chill went up my spine. It immediately gave me a bad feeling making me want to rush to my mom's room. But then my stomach started to hurt terribly and I realized I hadn't eaten anything. So I went to the room that held most of the fruits and vegetables in the house. I saw a banana and ate it quickly. It must have been rotten or something because it tasted like crap.
When I got to mom's room I found her coughing and wheezing uncontrollably and I rushed to her side. Her voice was hushed and hoarse but I heard something along the lines of 'I have Axe's disease.' That's when I went to the nearest snail-o-phone and immediately called the navy for medical treatment since we do scientific studies for them. Usually it was a nice man named Coby who answered the phone but this time it was a much deeper and more severe sound voice. That voice said "This is Admiral Akainu."
I nearly dropped the phone in fear of what he would say if I asked him about the treatment. So I politely asked for cadet Coby. Then the Admiral said.
"Coby? I don't really know who that is, but you may give that message to me now."
Reluctantly I said "My name Johaan Sigma of the Johaan botanists and my mother, Hollo, has come down with something called "Axes disease". If you be so kind as to give us trea—"
"What do we look like to you? A charity?" He interrupted. "If you can't keep your usefulness to the navy than I guess we'll have to let you go. You are hereby relieved of your duties to the navy and you will no longer receive benefits such as funding for research and medical help. "
"But…" the phone call ended and there was a loud ringing in my ear. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The navy would help us. I grew very angry and sad. I started to cry. Because I knew that the Axe's disease kills in only 2 days.
