I think it's time to admit it. I am hooked. Look out for a flood of Sam/Tucker fics (possibly songfics).

"So this is the place," Sam remarked dismissively. "Some legend."
"Hey, don't diss it!" Tucker interjected, adjusting his glasses. "According to this," he held up a small manga titled 'Love Hina', "if two lovers go to this university together, they'll be happy together forever!" Danny groaned.
"We should never have asked him to pick where you would take us," he whispered to Sam, who nodded in agreement. Oblivious, Tucker continued to yammer on about the many merits of Tokyo University, or, as the locals called it, Todai.
"We should totally go here! If it's like that for romantic relationships, it's probably the same for friendships!" Tucker's skewed logic was beginning to frighten Danny.
"One problem, dummy," Sam calmly pointed out. "None of us speak Japanese. 'Sides, I doubt it holds true for friendships." And I don't want to be only friends with you, she added silently.
"Rats," Tucker slumped, disappointed. Then he brightened. "We still have enough time to check out the shops, though! I definitely need some souvenirs!"
Later, when Danny was asleep, Sam dragged a drowsy Tucker back to Todai.
"Sam, wha' 're we doin' 'ere?" he mumbled groggily.

Once they reached the top, they sat down, both blushing intensely. Sam turned towards him.
"Tucker…"They kissed. Sweet, chaste, sealing this new chapter of their relationship. In the minds of both, a woman sang.

Whaddya think? BTW, Love Hina is a REAL anime/manga. I've no idea about the Todai legend.
