Dear God let me Live

Red, everywhere he looked crimson red, blood red, staining his vision tinting it to red. Blood everywhere matted in his hair and in their hair, blood splattered everywhere, covering his face and cloths. Cries of agony, death and loss echoed in John's head along with the sounds of gun shots and bombs scaring him forever. Bodies falling, crying, and dying all around him everywhere he looked. This is Afghanistan. This is hell.

Pain, so much pain. John gasped and clasped his shoulder in agony as a bullet pierced him. John collapsed to his knees tears streaming down his face as he yelled "Dear God let me live" over and over as crimson blood dripped through his fingers washing them of dirt and staining them red, forever red. He was Doctor John Watson and he was dying "Dear God let me live" he whispered one last time before all faded to black.
