Rose Weasley, Albus and James Potter, and James's friend Theo Prince, were sat in the carriage of the Hogwarts express. The train had just left the platform when a tallish boy with straight blonde hair and piercing blue eyes opened the door of the carriage.
"Hey, can I sit with you because all the rest of the carriages are full?"
"Yeah sure, sit next to me." Said Rose smiling at him.
"Hi, my names Scorpius Malfoy." He held out his hand to Rose.
She shook and replied, "Hey I'm Rose Weasley," she pointed to the rest of the group in turn, "This is Albus and James Potter, my cousins, and James's friend Theo Prince."
He raised one of his eyebrows, (Rose had always been jealous of people who could do that) and said, "So you're a Weasley and Potters? Better not tell my farther that."
"Why?" Rose asked.
"Well … let's just say that my father didn't get along too well with the Potters or the Weasleys."
"Wait … I think you're the one Uncle Ron pointed at and told Rose to beat you in every test, right Rose?" Butted in James.
"Shut up James! I'm sure my dad was only joking!" Rose exclaimed. "And anyway I'm not gonna listen to my dad and yours if it's just because they didn't get along with Draco Malfoy!"
"Didn't get along?" Scoffed James, "I think it was more like worst enemies."
"Yeah well that was then and this is now! Scorpius is sitting next to me in this carriage and if you don't like it then you can get out!" Shouted Rose.
