Gilan rode through the woods; he was coming back from a mission and was very tired, so he didn't notice Blaze's warnings.

His head jerked to the side as a crossbow arrow thudded into a tree just millimeters from his face. He replied with two arrows just a second apart back at him. The man ducked behind a tree just in time.

Gilan dismounted and started walking toward the direction of his attacker. He seemed to become part of the shadows as he wrapped himself in his cloak. The attacker jumped back as Gilan seemingly rose up from the ground. Gilan threw his throwing knife and pinned him to a tree by his shirt.

"P-please don't hurt me," the man stuttered.

"It won't hurt," Gilan said.

Color flooded back into the man's face.

"Much," Gilan added. And knocked him out with the hilt of his Saxe knife. At closer inspection he saw that the man was just a common robber. He searched the man and found some gold coins in his pockets.

Ironic, he thought, the robber being robbed.

Obviously he didn't know he was dealing with a ranger.

He took the coins and rode away into the night.
