Benson and Pops walked into the living room to find Mordecai and Rigby asleep in the couch after a long day of work. Benson forced them to work most of the day as punishment for throwing water balloons at the people who visited the park.
"MOR-!" Benson started, but was cut off by Pops, who placed a hand on his mouth.
"Wait, Benson. They look very tired. Why don't we carry them to their rooms." Said Pops.
Benson stared at his own boss like he was insane.
"Pops, I'm not going to carry them to bed, they may act like kids but are grown men."
"But when I sleep here you make Skips carry me to my bed and I'm much older than them."
"I'm still not doing it."
"Very well then, I will do it myself."
Benson watched as Pops walked over to the couch and was about to pick up Mordecai when Benson decided to intervene before the elderly man hurt himself.
"Pops wait," He whispered.
Pops gave him a look but Benson raised a hand.
"I will carry Mordecai, you take Rigby."
"Thank you my good man but I can handle it."
"You want to hurt your back again?."
Pops looked down and let go of Mordecai, he then tip toed towards Rigby and easily picked him up while Benson, still annoyed, lifted up Mordecai in his arms and walked up the stairs to Mordecai and Rigby's room with Pops and Rigby in tow. The coon settled down in Pops' arms and went still while his Blue Jay friend apparently had trouble making himself comfortable in Benson's thin metallic arms, much to the latter's chagrin since Mordecai was too heavy and he was trying his best not to drop him. Once they reached the bedroom Pops opened the door for Benson and they walked in. The first gently placed Rigby on his pile of clothes and covered him with his blanket while Benson set Mordecai on his bed as gently as he would while Pops tucked him in. As Mordecai and Rigby accommodated, the older men and walked out of the room and closed the door.
"Thank you for your help, Benson." Said Pops.
"No problem."
Benson would never admit it, but he didn't actually hate carrying Mordecai to bed. He wondered if someday he would be able to carry his own children to bed, although he tried not to think about it since he didn't believe it would be possible for him to have kids due to his job and lack of patience, but right now he had two young slackers in severe need of a strict father figure to practice with. Even though Mordecai and Rigby drove him nuts, he cared deeply for them and could do anything to teach them some simple responsibility.
