Her view of the world around her is untainted; what he likes to refer to as the epitome of perfection through his eyes.
The sweet promises she tosses towards him are more than just small promises to him. With a beautiful smile always curving her plump, pink lips, he prefers it this way. Her world revolves around excitement, happiness, rainbows and all the simple things that would create the exemplary, cliché happy ending.
He knows of how wrong her beliefs are. He's seen it himself; oh, how cruel and dark the world they descend upon really is. A place where dreams are nothing but a sappy illusion to fool the petty minds of those who think of the complete opposite. It was all a misunderstood, reversing mirage. No, in this world, where sin is present in practically any direction viewed at, her stupid, virtual view is nothing.
Yet, he does nothing to try and provoke her. He'll let her have her own happy illusion. He'll let her toss him those petty promises and express her beliefs about the wonderful world around them.
And as he clasps his gloved hand with her small one, he follows her into her world of rainbows and sunshine. He'll be able to do anything possible, if it meant keeping her, his precious jewel, away from the treacherous world he is surrounded by. He knows that by following her, they'll both be in their own little happy world.
He hears that love can change the viewpoints of many people. It dawns on him that her love changes his as well.
He knows of the result; of the price he'll pay to keep her happy.
She knows as well—it thrills her that he'll pay that price just for her.
