Secret Santa gift for korrashorts on Tumblr, who suggested a spy AU and Sukka.

Sokka laughed to himself as he climbed the building's sheer glass façade. "Suki'll never catch up to me!" he giggled. "I'll show her what a real spy can do." He continued giggling as he opened the unlatched window he'd spotted from the ground. He clambered inside, being careful to make as little noise as possible. Quiet as a mouse, he thought. They'll never know I was in here. But before he could continue gloating to himself, he heard the smallest of noises against the floor, just behind him. Before he could even turn to face it, he felt a hand against his mouth, silencing him, and an arm around his waist, holding him captive.

"MMMFF!" he shrieked.

"Shh!" a voice hissed in his ear. "It's only me!" The hands binding him released their hold, and he spun around to face the person behind him.

"Suki?" he cried, his voice rising — from surprise or embarrassment, he wasn't sure. "How did you get in here?"

Suki gave him her patented "shut up you idiot" look. "I took the stairs."

"You're not supposed to take the stairs!" Sokka wailed. "We're spies, Suki! You've probably set off the security system, and they'll be coming for us at any second!"

"Relax, Sokka," she replied smoothly. "I disabled the security system ahead of time." Sokka folded his arms and snorted. "Oh, come on," Suki wheedled, "are you really that afraid to admit that a girl could be better at this than you are?"

"I am not!" Sokka burst out. "I mean, uh, you are not!"

Suki gave a self-satisfied smile. "Admit it, Sokka."

Sokka sighed. "Fine. You're better than I am. But you have more experience!"

"That I do," she replied, a grin forming at the corners of her mouth.

"Are we going to continue or not?" Sokka spluttered.

"Of course. But you do remember this is only a game, right? We aren't actually spies?"

"I know that!" But from the look on his face and the blush creeping over his cheeks, Suki knew that he'd forgotten, if only momentarily. She shook her head, amused. Sokka did have a tendency to throw himself into the moment.

But then, that was probably why she liked him so much.
