A foot connected with Papyrus's face. Papyrus fell back and curled up in the corner. He waited for the end to come. He had really done it this time. He had thought he was strong enough to fight Undyne and take her down, but apparently he was wrong.
Undyne laughed. "You thought you could beat me and become the head of the royal guard! HA! You're going to die now. Say bye-bye!"
Papyrus did something he had never done before.
He cried.
He cried because he was going to die, yes, but more so because he had never even gotten the chance to tell his brother that he loved him. All he had done to Sans was hurt him, and now he would die without ever letting his brother know. It was all to make Sans stronger, but now he wondered if it was worth it.
He remembered the time that Sans had killed his first monster. Dad was beaming with joy, but Papyrus had laughed. He was the younger brother, but he had already reached level three. Truth to be told, Papyrus was jealous of the attention Dad was giving Sans. So Papyrus had punched Sans in the face, giving him a permeant scar. Sans had just stood there and taken it. Then, Sans had started to cry. Papyrus knew then that Sans was really weak, and that Papyrus would have to toughen Sans up. But now, there would be no one to take care of Sans. Sans would die without anyone to make sure he wasn't dusted.
The pain in his head increased. His skull was about to break, and both Papyrus and Undyne knew it.
Suddenly, the door opened.
"boss? boss!" Sans ran to Papyrus, weeping. "no! no! no! please, undyne! don't do this! i'll do whatever you want!"
"I want you to get out of my way so I can kill Papyrus! He tried to kill me! Now, let me kill him, or I'll dust you too."
"P-P-PLEASE! SANS! RUN!" Papyrus chocked out
"i've done enough running for my entire life." Sans's voice suddenly turned cold. His eyes dried up instantly and it was clear to everyone he had only been crying crocodile tears.
Undyne laughed again. "Let's see what the little monster with one hp has, mmm?"
"one hp is all i need."
Undyne summoned a spear and leapt towards Sans. Papyrus closed his eyes. He forced himself to open his eyes again.
But instead of seeing a pile of dust, he saw a Sans, full intact.
Weirdest of all, he was… smiling? The Sans he knew never smiled.
Undyne looked at Sans, afraid. "How did you- what- huh?"
"i teleported, genius. did you just expect me to stand there and take it. now that you know i'm not weak, i really can't let you live, now can i?"
Sans snapped his fingers and three bones appeared. Sans pointed his arm forward and watched as Undyne dodged the bones. She threw some spears at Sans as he teleported away.
Sans summoned a Gaster Blaster behind Undyne. He shot, but Undyne saw the blast before it reached her and jumped, doing a flip in mid air for good measure. She landed, but before she could get up, a bone penetrated her heart.
Sans turned, Undyne now dust, to his brother.
Papyrus had lost consciousness. Sans smiled even wider than he was already. Papyrus would be ok. Sans could tell. Papyrus wouldn't remember a thing. Sans would tell Papyrus it was him that killed Undyne. Papyrus would we head of the royal guard. Sans could continue being his brother's secret assassin. An assassin that the skeleton wouldn't even know he had.
