Lisa pulled her hair back into a slick ponytail as the Winchester's pulled up. Ben smiled. He placed the chalk he was drawing with down and walked to the end of the driveway. Lisa looked up to see where her son was going and jumped out of the lawn chair when she saw the car pulling up. Both of the Winchester boys got out of the car and walked up to her. She immeadilty hugged Dean.
"We were going across town and Dean begged to stop here." Sam made up the story. Dean just rolled his eyes and then smiled at Lisa. "It's been a while." She smiled at Dean. He nodded. "Too long." He agreed. Lisa couldn't help but think of him since the day he left after saving Ben from that creature.
Lisa welcomed the boys back into her house so the three of them were now sitting at the breakfast bar in her kitchen. Ben was in the backyard talking to one of his friends from school, Joey. Lisa looked at Ben and smiled. "It's been a while since he's been so happy." She said, wrapping her hands around her cup of hot coffee. At that moment, Ben and Joey came running inside. "Did you tell him yet, Mom?" Ben asked looking at Dean. Lisa shook her head no which made Ben roll his eyes and look at Joey. "I bet you ten dollars she's never gonna do it." Joey teased. Ben pouted at Lisa and ran upstairs with Joey to his room.
After the boys had disappeared Sam and Dean exchanged confused looks. "What's up?" Dean finally asked Lisa. She bit her lip and dumped her coffee into the sink. "Now's not a good time." She said, brushing her fallen hair behind her ear. Dean took a deep breath. "Lisa… you can tell me anything." He told her which only made her feel slightly better. "I can't Dean. I just can't!" she tried not to raise her voice. He nodded and within 10 minutes he and Sam were gone.
Lisa leaned against the front door and slid down until she was sitting on the floor with her knees up. As she thought about the thing that she was keeping from him, she couldn't help but cry. Ben came downstairs when he stopped hearing Sam and Dean's voices. "You didn't do it, did you?" he asked, kicking one of his toys out of the way. Lisa shook her head no.
"Are you ever gonna?!" Ben yelled. Lisa stood up. "Ben… it's not that easy." She tried to explain to her son. Ben pushed out of her reach. "It's not fair!" he screamed and ran back upstairs.
