the first few people to post fics here after the movie came out. its encouraging when the first few you read are good :-)He followed her. He found himself doing it more and more often. She'd be scared if she knew how much he really knew about her. He realized he shouldn't follow her everywhere. It was wrong to use his advantage for personal reasons, but he did is anyway. "Its not like it's keeping me from doing my real job," which was true. This was his hobby, what he did in his free time. "Good thing MJ's hair makes her so easy to keep track of." Not that it really would have been much of a problem for Spidey anyway, even if she'd had blonde hair.
He rested on top of a building across from the bookstore Mary Jane had walked into. "I hope today's a slow day, not much in the mood to save anyone," Spidey muttered to himself. He waited awhile, then decided to swing over to the bookstore. He waited above the exit in the semi-dark alley, needing to see her… talk to her. He loved looking in her eyes and seeing the shinning laughter, the laughter that was only there when he was around. "When Spidey's around," his mind taunted his heart, "she doesn't know who you are…"
He ignored his heart, as he always did. "With great power come great responsibility" his Uncle Ben had told him. "With a responsibility like mine, there's just no time to listen to your heart," he tried to convince himself.
Mary Jane walked out of the bookstore. His heart stopped and his mouth became dry. He remembered he was Spidey at the moment, Spidey did things Peter Parker would never do.
Like, "Hey Mary Jane," just loud enough that she could hear. MJ spun around, a small smile creeping across her face. She was used to the brief conversations with the frequently upside-down Spiderman.
"I'm not in trouble today, am I Spiderman?" Sure enough, he was struck by the laughter in her pretty green eyes.
He found his voice, "Oh no, I was ju…"
"Just in the neighborhood. I'm beginning to think I have a stalker," she joked. "If only you knew," Spidey thought.
"Nope, not a stalker, just a friend." Peter Parker replied.
She smiled a gentle smile, "Thanks for being a great friend, Spidey." She placed a small kiss on his forehead, then left.
Spiderman was completely convinced that he was ok with Mary Jane loving him. But everytime she called him Spidey, his heart broke a little more.
