Set after Damon talks to Pearl but before Elena goes to see Stefan. This is my version and alternative to the missing scene where Damon and Elena talk to eachother before Elena go up to Stefan's room.

And my heartbeat started pounding out a rhythm in my brain
A voice from deep inside said, "You've gotta be insane"
Everyone knows how this old story goes
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Damon asks her. He can see she's nervous by the way her hands are shaking and he knows that even if she wants Stefan to get better, she really don't want to do this. She's scared, even if she's too proud to admit it herself.
"This is the only solution, Damon."
"But can you handle it?" His eyes search hers and he hold her shoulders in a tight grip, "It won't be all mushy-mushy, kiss and make up scenario."
"I can handle it." She argues.
"He doesn't know how to control it. He might hurt you."
"Damon, I can handle it."
"Stefan on human blood, it's bad. As in bad-bad."
"I said, I can handle it."
Damon sighs.
There's no doubt, she's feisty.
"It'll be his downfall otherwise." says Elena, before she exits the room and starts preparing herself ready to meet Stefan.
Damon stayed in the livingroom with his glass of Bourbon in his hands, listening to every move Elena makes, every word she says. When he heard her cries of pain, it took everything in his power not to run up there and get her away from Stefan. It was the most painful noise he'd experienced for a very long time.
When he heard the thump of his brothers body on the floor, he secretly made a promise to himself. He would never, under any circumstances, let Elena get hurt ever again.
A/N - Maybe not the best but I hope you could get the feeling I was experiencing while writing this. I wish they had a scene between Damon and Elena before she went up to confront Stefan, that would have been a pretty good Delena moment. Hope you like it! Please, be kind and leave me your thoughts.
