Alice pushed her way through the woods, glancing behind her suspiciously every few steps; she wasn't allowed to be this far away from home. Her breath was harsh, leaving white puffs of smoke in the cool morning air. Using the small amount of muscle in her arms, she pushed a bush apart, peering into a small clearing.

Her heart beat picked up pace, her eyes focused. On the other end of the meadow, a pale haired woman was reaching up, plucking a succulent fruit from a great tree. Her blue eyes hypnotized from the tanned woman's curvy form. She was unable to pull herself closer; she was afraid her noisy, childish steps would scare away the beautiful creature.

Alice bit her lip, and urged every molecule in her body to move. The white hair was one with the wind, and entranced the young Alice; it made her hesitantly step closer. A stray branch beneath her dress shoes snapped loudly, and the foreign woman turned sharply, grey eyes narrowing threateningly. Alice stepped out of the shadows, hands up, putting her body in a submissive pose, and tried not to upset the gorgeous figure. The light-haired woman softened her gaze on the child, smile crossing her pretty pink lips.

Face lighting up, Alice dashed to the woman, breathless from excitement. Giving a small curtsy, the child's blonde hair fell over her face.

"My name is Alice!"

The woman smiled, nodding and bent down to Alice's eye level. Her beautiful lips parted, speaking in an even voice.

"I am Kidagakash, but all my friends call me Kida."

Alice's pretty blue eyes widened, and she repeated the name, leaving her pink lips in a tingling sensation. Kida smiled at the excited child, and they spoke together, sitting down in the calm sea that was the meadow. The two girls spoke of many things; of imaginary places, of hidden places; of crazy friends, of deceiving friends. Alice even preformed a song and dance routine she had learned.

Kida clapped, laughing a light laugh, and her smile caught. Her grey eyes had a smile in it, and the flowers even seemed to have a smile in them. Alice felt her heart pulsating in her chest, and warmth pooling in her cheeks, making them rosy and sweet. Her throat felt dry, and her palms clammy. Alice felt like she was dying. She looked up at Kida, swallowing with difficulty.

"Kida…"

Alice began, eyebrows furrowing in embarrassment. Her friend smiled, nodding for her to continue with her thoughts.

"What's love like?"

The blonde child murmured softly, tucking a small chunk of hair behind her ear, watching Kida with attentive blue eyes. Kida's mouth opened slightly, but nothing came out; she couldn't answer. She put a hand on Alice's shoulder, smiling awkwardly.

"Honey, that's… err…"

She spewed, still not really knowing what to say.

"When you- Feel like you can't breathe. If you're near the one you love, you get warm. When you hear their name, your heart pumps just a little harder in your chest."

Kida smiled, remembering old memories. Alice's eyes filled with emotion, and she took Kida's tan hand, squeezing it. Kita watched the girl curiously, not understanding what she was getting at.

"I-Think I'm in love…"

Alice whispered gently, hardly heard over the wind. Kida smiled, thinking it was a game. She patted the little blonde girl's head, and stood.

"Sweetie, that's for… Big people." Kida paused. "Adults." She finished, nodding.

Alice's face grew red in anger.

"I'm not joking…!" She insisted, but Kida laughed. Feeling tears well up, she couldn't take the embarrassment, and ran, running through brush that tore at her clothes.
