I wasn't really planning on a sequel for The Card, a oneshot I wrote last year in class last year for Valentines Day, but upon request by Saya Moonshadow I began to work on it... it just took a while for a good idea, is all.
Disclaimer: You had better know I don't own Bionicle! The Sender
No, that didn't work either. The words weren't right.
Vakama sighed and gave up on writing a response to the Ga-Matoran who had sent him a card.
He looked around his forging room and picked up a disk. Once again, he found himself trying to make a Vahi. He would have almost completed it, too, if a knock from outside hadn't startled him and caused him to yelp.
That's the second time this week this has happened, he noted.
Scuttling over to the door he opened it and asked, "Yes?"
"Hey, Vakama!" said a cheery masked Nuhrii. "What are you up to?"
"A mask for Turaga Dume."
"Still? I thought you would have that finished by now."
"Yes, but I have been interrupted... several times."
"By who?"
Vakama hesitated and shyly handed his old teacher the card.
Nuhrii blinked and studied the odd thing. It made of thick white paper. In the center on the front was a perfectly cut out red heart. On the heart, in big glittery letter, was "Vakama".
Carefully, he opened it up and read:
"Ta-Matoran are red,
Ga-Matoran are blue.
You make me blush,
Because I'm stuck on you."
"You make someone blush?" Nuhrii joked.
"That was my first thought too." Vakama admitted.
"Have you sent anything back? Flowers? Candy?"
"I don't know who sent it."
"Still, do you know who delivered it?"
"Eroker, I think."
"Good, he can deliver it to this anonymous mistress."
Vakama felt heat rise in his cheeks and the back of his neck.
"I... I have been trying to write a poem back, but..." Vakama sighed.
"Why not set up a meeting between you two? You can ask her through the poem."
"But what will I write?"
"How should I know, you're the Ga-Matoran charmer." Nuhrii shrugged and left his pupil to ponder.
Eroker found himself, once again, delivering a card. This time at a school in Ga-Metru. And this time, it was much more simplistic than the one the Ga-Matoran had sent. A simple unevenly folded, red piece of paper with a poorly cut out heart.
He had to hand it to Vakama, the guy wasn't the best at making romantic little cards but he sure as heck could make a magnificent mask.
He looked at the doors, knowing exactly who had sent it. Smiling, he knocked on her door and waited. He heard the class hush down and the teacher walk over to the door.
"He sent a card back." Eroker said, handing it to her. She blinked two confused blue eyes at him.
"Thank you." she said quietly as he walked away.
"What is it?" one of her students asked.
"Awe, how sweet! Look, Kotu, whoever made it tried his hardest to cut out a heart." another giggled, pointing to the blue heart.
"How's that sweet? The guy can't even cut out a heart!" Kotu answered back.
"What does it say, Miss. Nokama?" someone asked.
Their teacher didn't hear them, she was too absorbed in what Vakama had written back to her.
"I liked the card.
I thought it was sweet.
Maybe someday,
If we meet on the street,
We can sit and talk
And enjoy our time,
If that's okay with you
That would be just fine."
Awe, that was sweet of Vakama! I can't write a love poem to save my life. XD It's longer than The Card so I hoped you enjoyed it.—Amy
