Food Fit for a King

I like to cook and try new recipes when I'm home. So I felt like writing a story about cooking with the BAU team. Hope you like this tasty story.

Also I'm using real recipes in the story.

I don't own Criminal Minds.

Two weeks ago Garcia and JJ came up with an idea on what do on their vacation time. Basically it was that we would have dinner together BUT…it's a buffet-style meal. Everyone must bring a dish. This way they have a feast instead of the same old "going to the diner or bar" scenario that they do all the time. The rule was that the food must be cooked at home and not bought.

Everyone agreed to have the dinner in two weeks at Morgan's place since he had a big dining table that would fit everyone and the food.

The day before the dinner everyone was hard at work in the kitchen and running back and forth to the supermarket.

Finally it was the night of the dinner and everyone brought three dishes and placed them in the kitchen.

Garcia stood up, "Ok everyone, and I hope you're ready to eat. Let's start with Morgan and we go clockwise around the table."

Morgan went into the kitchen and brought out a white platter. "My dish is honey baked ham. This was my mom's favorite during Christmas."

"Those look great Morgan" said Reid.

"Thanks kid."

"Alright… Rossi you up next" said Garcia.

Rossi went into the kitchen and brought out his dish which was in a wire bread basket. "This is garlic bread made from scratch. Nothing starts a meal like a good bread basket."

Everyone smelled the bread and their mouths watered.

"Reid it's your turn."

Reid got up from the table and got his dish which was on a round plate. "I made Risotto with herbs and chicken. I used to make it at home for my mom on her birthday. It was her favorite."

"Reid you out done yourself, this look awesome" said Prentiss.

Reid blushed, "Thank you."

"JJ, it's you turn."

JJ got up and got her plate which was green and square-shaped. "I made grilled tuna steaks. My dad and I, when I was little, made fish steaks on the 4th of July."

"Awesome JJ, after this meal I don't think I'll need to eat for the next few weeks" said Hotch.

"Prentiss you're up."

Prentiss brought out a large, red bowl. "I made Penna ala vodka. It's also a family favorite."

"Ooh that looks great, yum" said Garcia.

"Hotch is next."

Hotch got up to bring out a large cake. "For dessert, I made carrot cake with cream-cheese icing and topped with chopped pecans."

"Hotch I never knew you could be kitchen savvy" said Garcia.

"Well no one ever asked."

"Ok I'm last." Garcia got a large bowl. "I made Gnocchi; it's my all-time favorite and my specialty."

(Gnocchi is an Italian dish that is potato dumplings covered in pasta sauce and parmesan cheese)

"Gnocchi, I haven't had that in years" said Rossi.

"Ok let's dig in."

The Next Day

Garcia walked out of her bathroom still clutching her stomach. "Way too much food."

The phone rang; Garcia picked it up while groaning in agony.

"Hey Garcia, its JJ." "You sound as bad as me JJ" said Garcia. "Please don't remind me."

"I think next time; we'll just go to the bar."
