Ciel was still in Sebastian's conscious.

No, Sebastian Michaelis wasn't his name anymore. But Sebastian, Ciel's butler, would always be who he truly was.

A vivid memory of a pale boy with dark hair still mesmerized him in the middle of the night. He wouldn't be watching him sleep, but he would be watching another. But he would yearn to be with the other one again, in the depths of what would be his heart, if he had one.

Demons do not have emotion. They do not love, they do not trust, they do not feel. They live with such misanthropy, such a detest for humans. But they would have such lust for blood, for the taste of a soul, a sweetness that lingers on the tongue.

Sebastian had many masters before Ciel, each with a taste like the others. But not Ciel. He had a richness to him, a savory flavor laced with heartache and sin. A taste so delicious, a taste he would never forget.

He would never forget Ciel either. When Ciel passed, he was rewarded. He indulged in his soul, and Ciel would be gone forever. But with the reward came loss. He would not see the face again, hear the voice again, feel his skin again. No other, before or after Ciel, would have his beauty, his finesse.

It plagued the demon. Could it be he missed Ciel? Could it be inside the dark depths which is a demon, Ciel had sparked something? Was this feeling?

Sebastian wouldn't let it show, he would not express this. He wouldn't shed a tear.

Demons don't cry.

He kept his memento, a ribbon that once was a bow around his young master's neck. But as he ran the silk neck tie that once graced Ciel through his fingers, as his yearning for him grew stronger, he wished he could cry. He wished that he could let this out, let tears stain his flawless face.

Ciel would always be his one and only young master.

His new master, someone unimportant to him, would ask about the silk ribbon.

"Why do you have that?"

"It reminds me of something important."

"What happened to it?"

"It is long gone."

His master frowned.

"Why don't you cry, then? If I lost something important, I would cry."

Sebastian would frown, his only show of emotion.

No, because demons don't cry.
