I walked into school and saw everybody, people I used to know and new ones. I'd walked through the door and had taken a deep breath. I hadn't seen my friends in a long time. I walked over to where their lockers were. The three were all facing my opposite way and were standing a few yards away. "Hi guys." I said in a bit of a low-ish voice. They all seemed to tense then. Did they miss me? Are they mad at me? Did something happen that I don't know of?
Many questions were running through my head but there was one running over and over in my head more than all. Did they even want me back?...
The first one to turn around enough to see me was my best friend, my closest friend of all time. Sam.
"Oh. My. God. CATHY!!!" she exclaimed and hugged me, practically tackling me, with so much force I almost fell backwards. I immediately hugged her back. "I MISSED YOU!" we both said at the same time when we let go. I turned towards the other two friends and Chris also hugged me. "Wow, when the heck did you get here?" he exclaimed and I smiled a bit. "Yesterday." I replied but then I ignored their stunned faces and looked at my last friend. He hadn't even changed his position. He was still looking somewhere else, not towards me. The bell for second to last period rang and Sam and Chris gave each other worried looks. They looked over to me and I waved my hand to let them know it was okay to go. "I have the same classes. I'll see you there and I know where to go." I said without looking at them. I saw out of the corner of my eye that they nodded and went away. Everyone else in the hall was already gone. It was just me and him.
"You know, I didn't turn ugly." I said crossing my arms over my chest. He looked down to the ground and I just wished he would let me see his face. "I know. . ." he said in such a muffled voice I barely heard it. I walked over to him, not making a sound, and put my left hand on his right shoulder. He looked over to me and I couldn't help but stare at him. His face just looks so. . . perfect.
It's the face of someone brave and wise.
The face of someone that's funny and nice.
The face of a jokester.
The face of a cocky jerk.
The face of a selfish person.
The face of someone who can trick you.
The face of someone who knows how to get things his way.
The face of a hero who would give up or do anything for anyone.
The face of the person I love.
The face of the person I left. . . .
His eyes looked dull and depressed like someone had taken the life out of him. He looked defeated and like he prefers solitude over friends. He also had the face of someone that was changed in an instant. Did I do this to him?
He looked at me, or my eyes. I can't tell. I can't tell anything about him right now, more like ever. He's just a… confusion in my mind.
I'll continue it if someone likes. It would just be another chapter.
