What would happen if he told her?
What would happen if he just swooped her into a kiss the second she walked into the office?
Would she slap him?
Would she kiss back?
Would she never look at him the same?
Would it all be a big mistake?
Would it be the best decision in his life?
What would happen if he insisted to love her?
What would happen if he held her?
Would she push away?
Would she hold him back?
Would she kiss him?
What would happen if he just let it all out?
What would happen if he didn't?
Would she ever say that she felt the same way?
Did she?
Was today the long-awaited day?
Was it finally time to tell her?
What would happen?
Would she still be his best friend if he showed his true feelings for her and she didn't feel the same?
Was she ready?
Would she ever be ready?
Could he ruin everything?
What would happen?
Would it be easy?
Could he just kiss her?
Could she just kiss back?
Could it be that easy?
Or would it be harder?
Would it change her feelings for him?
Would she feel guilty for not loving him back?
Did he even have a chance?
What would happen?
He smiled at Gillian once she walked into the office. She smiled back and said, "Hey."
"Morning." He whispered, walking towards her.
Now was his chance.
Take it?
Leave it?
What would happen?
She stepped back slightly as he got closer, "What?" She asked.
He was now close, their lips just inches apart.
"What are you doing?" She asked after he didn't move.
He stared into her eyes and then looked to her shoulder. He pulled a small hair from it and smile, "There." He flicked the hair to the ground and stepped back quickly.
She stared at him and said, "You're a weird one Cal Lightman."
He tightened his jaw.
Too late.
Tomorrow?
What would happen?
