Warm Mornings

When I should be doing homework but I'm not.

This one-shot is based on chapter 418.

Summary: sometimes she had forgotten what a warm morning was like

Lucy rolled around in hotel bed she was sleeping in. She didn't understand why it felt so warm. The hotel never turned the heaters up, especially when it wasn't cold outside.

"That's it, I'm going to call them." As she got up, something caught her eye. The celestial mage noticed a tuff of pink sticking out. Pulling the covers down was the answers to her problem.

Normally she would jump out of bed and shriek, and Lucy kick the dragon slayer out of her bed, but she did nothing.

"I guess he snuck out of his room and into mine." She gently stroke his hair.

The blonde had almost forgotten how warm Natsu was. She had miss him dearly during the yearlong separation, hoping and praying that she'd wake up and find him in her bed. Now, the fire mage was back, and for some reason, it was as if he never left the moment she found him in her bed.

"I guess some things never change." She said softly as she watched Natsu continue sleeping.

"Fufufufu, Lushie's a pervert Natsu." Her eyes widened as she saw Happy floating above them.

The dragon slayer opened his eyes and grinned. "Hahaha, Lucy's still a pervert."

The female rolled her eyes. "You're the pervert here Natsu, still sneaking into women's beds, even after all this time."

"Only your bed." He answered back with mischievous eyes.

"Wh-what is that supposed to mean?"

Natsu shrugged, "I don't know, I like waking up with you in the morning."

"Yeah," Happy sat between the two, "Natsu would always grumble in his sleep about Lucy and bed."

The two mages blush at the blue exceed's statement.

"Oi Happy, now your making me look like the pervert!"

"Hehehe, sorry Natsu," the blue cat rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.

Lucy couldn't help but giggle at the sight of Natsu and Happy arguing. She had definitely miss their presence, and just seeing them act normal, made her really happy.

"Natsu, Lucy's acting all weird again."

The dragon slayer looked at his partner and grinned. "Oh come on Happy, Lucy's always weird."

"I'm not being weird," Lucy answered, "I'm just happy, that's all."

"Why's that Lushie?"

The blue fur exceed was surprised when she brought him into her lap and began to pet him.

"It's because two of my friends are finally back."

Natsu could feel the guilt eating up inside of him. He pulled Lucy into a hug, which Happy managed to get away from before being squashed, and buried his face into her hair.

"I'm sorry Luce, I'm so sorry for leaving you."

The blonde shook her head. "Don't be, I mean you wanted to get strong to protect everyone."

He wrapped his arms tighter around her waist. "I promise not to leave you anymore Luce."

The trio laid back into Lucy's bed, enjoying each other's company. Before Natsu and Lucy could fall asleep, Happy decided to ask a question.

"Hey Natsu, do you think we should tell Lucy about the pictures of her in her underwear we found in Gildart's bag?"

Many people looked up into the sky as they saw a blur of pink and blue after they were Lucy kicked from the room.
