The Missed Call Chronicles 7- Jasper's Cell Phone

"Alice, what are you doing?" I asked Alice as she went picking up shoes scattered all over the closet floor.

"Just making sure I don't already have shoes Bella can wear to the wedding." She answered matter-of-factly. I sighed, and then leaned against the door.

"Okay…"

"Jasper, all I need you to do is leave. I don't like having you watch me while I'm in the zone." In the zone?

"Okay, I'll just be in the living room." I gave in to her. I couldn't say no to the cute little pixie face. I walked down the stairs, and I found Emmett holding something—a bundle.

"Emmett? What are you doing?" I asked the huge strange man.

"Nooothing…" he said like he was hiding something. I sighed then rolled my eyes. He ran out the door full speed when I walked a bit closer to him. I could swear I heard him scream, "I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!" right before he left with the bundle. I shook it off, and then decided to watch the news. As if it mattered anyway.

I was listening to some guy ramble on about an embezzling case when my phone vibrated in my jeans pocket. I was too lazy to answer. When the anchor man was done, I decided to check my messages. It turns out I had more then one. I dialed my voicemail, and typed in my password—Alice in numbers. The first message was from Carlisle.

"Jasper," he began. "Please tell Alice to check for the Volturi. Aro called me today, and he sounded like he was giving hints. Thanks." The message ended. Next message:

"Jazzy!" I heard Emmett's recorded voice say. I shuttered. He just called me Jazzy…that was a bit creepy. "I just wanted to know if you cared about that one pair of pants…you know the ones with the faded pockets? Yeah, if you did, I'm sorry, they are part of the—never mind. Well actually, they really have no purpose; I just thought I should have stolen something from everyone. Bye, bye!" his loud peppy voice yelled. I hung my head in frustration. Shake it off, Jasper, my inner voice said. I moved on to the next message.

"Dude…." Emmett started again. "Please bring me one pair of Alice's shoes. It would really help with the invention. I am in the clearing." He finished. I thought about going down to the baseball clearing and see what he was up to, but I decided not to. Final message.

"Jasper, what ever you do, don't give anything to Emmett. He is totally deranged and needs help. Just make sure he doesn't have any bundles or anything. Trust me." Edward's recorded voice said seriously. I thought about what Emmett had before—it looked like…a basket. I thought about any baskets in our house. There was Esme's decorative stuff…oh shit. If Emmett stole some of Esme's decorative stuff, then what could he have stole from Carlisle? I punched in Carlisle's number. He didn't answer.

"This is Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Please leave a message." Then there was a beep.

"Carlisle, make sure there aren't any medical instruments aren't missing. If there are any, confront Emmett immediately. Bye." I decided to leave a note for Alice. I was just going to have to go see Emmett for myself.

Alice,

Please understand that if I don't return, it isn't my fault. Blame Emmett. He is planning something, and it doesn't look good. I am going to the baseball clearing to see what he's up to. Sorry to desert you like this—I may not return, knowing Emmett and all. Love you forever,

Jasper.
