It all happens very quickly. One minute Lulu is dueling Saya for fun, but after is a different story. Lulu wins the duel then she kneels on the ground. Shay, Saya, Allen, and Kite all go over and see what is wrong.
"Lulu, are you alright?" Shay asks his sister.
"I'm fine." She groans lowly before passing out. Shay checks her forehead and notes that she has a fever.
"I'm going to take her home, see if I can figure out what is going on with her."
"Do you have any thought as to why she is suddenly sick?" Saya asks, concerned for her friend.
Shay shakes his head. He tells them that he thinks that it might be a cold or something, nothing too serious. What he doesn't tell them is that he thinks it may have something to do with being the Xyz version of Ray, if her fellow counterparts are sick as well then maybe Leo can tell them what is wrong or help them find out. If not, then Shay isn't sure what is wrong with her.
Leaving school, Shay walks home, it's only twenty minutes away by walking and this gives him time to talk to Yuya, Yugo, and Yuri to see if Zuzu, Rin, and Selena are sick as well. Carrying Lulu bridal style, Shay brings out his cell phone and calls Yuya first, then Yuri, then Yugo, all tell him that Lulu's counterparts are well and don't show any signs of sickness.
Then what could it be?
Reaching their home, Shay pulls out his house key and unlocks the door, kicking it closed behind him then takes Lulu to her room and lays her in bed. He goes to the bathroom and pulls out a washcloth and dampens it along with bringing in a thermometer. Before placing the cool rag on her head, Shay takes Lulu's temperature only to find out that it is perfectly normal.
How can her head be burning like she's running a fever if she doesn't have one?
Taking out his phone, Shay calls the one person who may have the answer.
"Hello, Shay," Leo Akaba answers.
"When you had Ray, was she ever sick?"
"Many times, but you're going to need to clarify what kind of sickness."
"She dueled a friend today and then she fell sick, her head is warm as if she has a fever but the thermometer says she's normal."
"Hm, even I don't know what this could be. Ray has never experienced anything like that. Have you tried the others?"
"Yes, according to Yuya, Yugo, and Yuri they are all fine."
"Interesting, has there been any big change in her life lately, besides the concert in Heartland Park?"
Shay's eyes widen as he recalls that night. Lulu sang a song about Yuto and afterwards his best friend left to attend college in Pendulum. Could Yuto's absence be what is making Lulu sick? But why now? The concert was back in late July early August and it's October, so why is she suddenly sick now?
Shay tells Leo as much and not even Leo has an answer. Leo tells him to see if Yuto is alright and then see if Declan may have some answers, after all Declan was pretty much a genius and skipped a few grades as a child.
"Yuto, you better not be the reason Lulu is like this." Shay mutters to himself after he and Le hang up. He loves Yuto like a brother, but he will murder him if he's the cause of Lulu's sickness.
