Genre: Angst

Disclaimer: I don't own it, and I am not making anything from it.
What Have I Done?
I look down at your grave and think how royally I've screwed up.
If Uncle Jesse was here he'd tan my hide for being a compete jackass.
If I knew this was going to happen I would have never gave you the idea, let alone let you do it.
I knew about your heart condition, although you never told me about until after you had the bypass.
Kind of hard to miss that fact when someone tried to blow up the Hospital while you had it done.
I wish you told me about it though; there was a time when told each other everything.
There are some things I should have told you too.
I wonder what I'm going to tell Daisy if I ever see her again.
I encouraged you to take my place in the Senate, knowing it was a high stress job, with your heart condition.
Funny if anyone knew our history you would think we'd wind up dead in a car accident.
That or in an incident where curiosity killed the cat.
Not that's going to matter to her.
I got your package, from your Lawyer not long after you died.
Read your letter too…
In it you mention Martha recovering from some unknown illness.
As well as your fears that something bad was going to happen to someone close to Clark, and soon.
What freaked me out was that you were pretty sure it would happen to you.
That you were prepared for it if it did.
But come on, since when did you believe in the supernatural?
You told me to keep an eye on Martha and Clark.
I saw them at your funeral.
Martha was letting her feelings go.
But Clark was keeping it in.
And I know that doesn't do anyone any good.
Why did you have to die?
You were the youngest of all of us.
You had a lot to live for, a wife and son you could be proud of.
You had much more to give to the world.
But you had to listen to me, like you almost always did
Now you're dead.
And it's my fault.
