Summary: Who wouldn't want a good duel?

GROUP ONE: LILY EVANS

ALICE PREWITT

FRANK LONGBOTTOM

MARLENE MCKINNON

GROUP TWO: JAMES POTTER

REMUS LUPIN

ELAINE ESTHER

SIRIUS BLACK

"Wow. I'd pay to see those groups duel each other! I don't see an overwhelming favorite here, they're pretty evenly matched," a fourth year witch chirped.

"Sirius Black's group, for sure. Sirius and James are the best duelers in the school, matched only by Snape, probably. And Esther and Lupin are no pushovers, either," a blond Ravenclaw said.

"I think you're only going by their reputations, Farah," a tall, regal looking Ravenclaw countered. "Evans is the best witch in her year, and I think you forgot that McKinnon beat Sirius Black in one of the earlier contests."

"I'm just going by the head to head match-ups. I mean, as a whole, I'd pick Evan's group, by a rather large margin, but give me one dueler in Alice's group that can single handedly take on James. That guy is exceptional."

The tall Ravenclaw snorted. "Being top heavy is hardly an advantage. The talent is more evenly distributed in Group One. Evans is the top witch, Marlene is clever and quick, and Frank and Alice are future Aurors - they possess great instinct. It also helps that Alice and Longbottom are a couple. Gives them incentive."

"You're forgetting," a squat red headed Gryffindor said, "that Black and Esther are also a couple. Which gives them equal advantage in that area. But, James might have to face Evans, which would be interesting."

"And Marlene will have to face Remus," Farah shot back. "Same thing. Also, James will not hold back if he faces Evans. Secondly, Group Two has more chemistry. Most of the Marauders are there!"

The regal-looking Ravenclaw looked down at Farah. "I'll admit, James and Sirius are quite bright, and fair duelers -"

"Fair?"

"Alright, they're very good, but besides them, it's a toss up. Elaine is quite ruthless, which might give her an advantage. Lupin is very confident and just having Black and Potter in his group alone might ignite him. I still stand by what I said though, Group One are the winners."

Farah rolled her eyes, but her eyes suddenly brightened. "We never took into account that they're all friends, Henry, which should make it interesting…"

"Minus Potter and Evans of course…"

"Oh, yeah."

"Miss Beth and Mr. Calloway?" a crisp voice called out. Their heads whipped around and was met with the Head of Gryffindor house, Professor McGonagall.

"Yes, Professor McGonagall?" Henry prompted.

"I was rather engaged in your conversation, pardon me, but I think it would be a good idea if you both would commentate for the Gryffindor House Dueling Competition. Would you consider it?" McGonagall asked.

"But Professor," Farah began, "we're going to miss classes -"

"We have made allowances in the past, Miss Beth, so no need to worry. You will not fall behind. You either, Mr. Calloway. We have made arrangements in the case that we would have commentators that was not in our own House." McGonagall smiled and said shortly, "I take it you say yes?"

Farah and Henry nodded eagerly.

"Thank you, Professor McGonagall," Henry said earnestly. Farah beamed in appreciation.

"Very well," McGonagall said briskly, "I shall speak to your Head of House. Have a good evening."
