I have to shake my head. Once again, everyone is jumping to conclusions, ready to paint me as the bad guy.

Yes, I've rejoined HPD. Taken the lieutenant title. But for a reason. Five-O has been torn apart. Steve and Kono have been arrested. Danny, I'm sure will be questioned and interrogated to no end.

I took the job to save them. Inside HPD, I can still have the means to go after Wo Fat, to prove him to be Laura's killer. The Governor's killer.

As reckless as Steve may have been in everyone's eyes, as reckless as Danny's rants will have made him out to be, it doesn't mean he's guilty. I know he's innocent. I know he had a plan. I know that Wo Fat and the Governor had other people in their food chain. Steve did more than record his conversation with the Governor. It may have been deleted on his cell phone, but it was simultaneously sending… to some very key people. Me included.

So yes, I handcuffed him and put him into the back of my patrol car. It's called protective custody. Steve is the most important witness to organized crime in the entire state of Hawaii, if not this hemisphere. I'm not going to let anything happen to him. My position at HPD will allow me to do that.
