Tossing a white sweater over her head, Maka shook out her pigtails before making a full turn in the mirror to make sure she looked alright. She'd made plans to meet up with Kid, and as she glanced out the window, she smiled as she saw the snow falling. It had been so beautiful lately, and she was more than happy to spend the day with Kid.
Grabbing her keys off the dresser and locking the door behind her she beamed, before taking the steps two at a time and rushing down the side walk. As she rushed she giggled at her breath coming off into little clouds of warmth before crossing over the hill, only to see Death the Kid leaning against a street vendors booth and staring at the snow fondly.
"Kid!" Maka called to him, waving at him briefly before skipping down the hill, as she was almost to the bottom, her foot caught on a piece of ice and she shrieked. She closed her eyes tightly, waiting for the pain, but was surprised to meet a warm solid. She looked up and smiled at her friend, who had moved quickly with Beelzebub and caught her. She sighed in relief, "Thank you so much, I have a funny feeling that really would've hurt." he chuckled at her joke, before letting go of her slowly and making sure she was steady on her feet.
She linked her elbow with him before walking forwards towards their favorite spot. They had spent a lot of time together since Soul had become a Death Scythe, meaning he had to leave a lot and work. Now, she almost felt closer to him than she had her partner, and if she was perfectly honest with herself, she might have a slight 'huge' crush on the Shinigami.
As they came close to the perfectly symmetrical park that had been built not long before the winter, she winked at Kid before running forwards and claiming her spot on their bench. He grinned at her, and sat beside her, looking in pure bliss at the park around them. "Hey Maka?" the yellow eyed boy muttered.
She cocked her head to the left slightly, "Yeah?" she asked, he sounded so serious, it almost worried the girl.
"Can you close your eyes for a second?" he asked turning to face her. She closed them immediately, heart thumping in her chest, but as a hard thump hit her, then cold spread threw her, her eyes shot open, only to hear laughter coming from Kid as he ran for cover.
"Ohhhh! You're going to get it now!" she threatened, scooping snow off the ground as she chased after him. She cheered as she nailed him right in the shoulder, before scurrying off to find a hiding place.
Catching her breath, she scanned her eyes for him but couldn't find his dark form anywhere, 'What in the world?' she thought, peering around her, and losing her hiding space, only to scream as arms wrapped around her when she came around the corner of her hiding place. He laughed, chest rumbling as he placed her back on the ground.
As she looked at him then, a rosy blush of color crossed over his cheeks from the cold and a smile on his lips she couldn't help but smile too. "Can I try something?" she asked, and the boy scratched back of his head, a smile still in place as he looked down at her.
"Sure, what were you thinking?" he asked, and Maka bit her lip, before standing on her tip toes, linking her arms around his shoulders and pressing a kiss on his lips.
Shock was written all over his form, and Maka pulled back slightly, "Something like that…" she said, trailing off, worried he didn't feel the same way about her. But the boy surprised her, by wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her again. As she ran out of breath she pulled away and smiled.
"I was thinking the same way…" he said, forehead pressed against her own as she stared up at him, happy to be cared for.
