I was looking forward to settling down and finally having my idea of a normal life. So why does the supernatural keep trying to find me?
oOo
"My family…we're not like you." I shifted my weight to the other leg and crossed my arms uncomfortably. "We call ourselves vegetarians but it's hard. We're always tempted to stray from our diet." Edward brought me into the forest to tell me…this?
"Okaaay. ..Well your parents can't force you to be vegetarians like them. If you want chicken then eat chicken." I shrug. His face twisted into a grimace.
"You don't understand! It's not safe for you to be near me!" He almost growled.
Nerves rattled my stomach and I realised that perhaps he was unhinged and that, despite my attraction to Edward, coming into the forest with him wasn't such a good idea. He suddenly lifted a huge trunk off the forest floor and threw it into tree where it splintered with a thunderous crash. My eyes widened and I began backing away.
"Okay...we've got to get to class Edward." I make sure not to turn my back on him completely, keeping him in my line of sight as a turn back towards school. "You should talk to someone. Maybe get help?" I say softly, trying not to anger him. He's obviously taking steroids or something, who know what he might do while he's so angry.
I can understand why he's upset, it doesn't seem right his parents forcing their diet choices on him at this age. My mom tried being a vegetarian for a while but succumbed just before Christmas. She hadn't enjoyed eating tofu for Thanksgiving apparently. Perhaps Edward's parents should just let him eat what he wants to.
