New Year, New Start
Chapter 1
It was New Year, Craig and JohnPaul were hoping to spend it alone and forget about the year they had. But Craig's flatmates had decided to drag them out of the flat and see what everyone in Dublin was doing to celebrate the end of another year.
Craig was stood at the bar waiting to order a drink, while he was stood there he thought back to the recent break he had taken his Sister Steph and her late Husbands Brother Tom on, it hadn't turned out to be the relaxing break they had hoped for.
Niall had turned up at the remote cottage in Scotland, hoping to win Steph's heart, but he caused havoc by taking Tom away from them, tying Craig up and holding Steph against her will. Niall took his own life when he fell backwards off a high cliff when Steph revealed that she had never loved him, but was very much scared of him.
JohnPaul appeared at Craig's side and gently touched his shoulder bringing Craig out of his thought
"What were you thinking about?" JohnPaul enquired.
"Everything that has happened this year." Craig said as he picked up his drink.
Not only had he witnessed Niall kill himself, he had gone back to Hollyoaks for what he thought was his Step-Dad Jack's funeral.
JohnPaul's year hadn't been great, he had started dating the local priest Kieron, it hadn't gone down well with his Mother Myra, Myra did come round to liking Kieron as he started to help Myra track down her Son that she left on the steps of a local church.
Kieron had found out that Niall was Myra's son, Niall made Kieron pay, by spiking his drink and leaving him dead and a heartbroken JohnPaul.
Niall was also plotting against the McQueen family making them all pay for his misfortune, they never knew he was their brother until he got them all tied up in a abandoned church, the same one he had been left on the steps of.
Myra had been forced into who should live and die, by answering questions, when the church became unstable that everybody thought that Niall had been killed, Tina, Myra's Daughter, Jacqui, Mercedes, Carmel, JohnPaul and Michaela's Sister, Max's Mum and Dominic's wife had become the latest victim of Niall while Niall had walked free somehow.
When JohnPaul got the all clear from the doctor, he made his way back to Dublin; he couldn't bear to be in the village where it had some upsetting memories for him.
JohnPaul glanced over at Craig who was taking a drink from his pint when he turned and looked at JohnPaul and said:
"What are you doing?" Craig asked once he had put his glass down.
"Looking at the most gorgeous guy that I know." JohnPaul quietly said
It was 2 minutes to midnight and everyone was enjoying themselves, JohnPaul had wrapped his arms around Craig, who in turn had done the same, they hadn't moved from the spot at the bar. They both gazed into each others eyes before noticing that fireworks were going off around them, they had missed the countdown to New Year.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR." the room erupted together.
"Happy New Year." Craig said while gazing into JohnPaul's eyes.
"Happy New Year Craig." JohnPaul softly spoke and leant closer into Craig and kissed him.
2009 had begun, leaving 2008 in the past and what had happened with it. JohnPaul looked up and quietly spoke to himself
"Happy New Year Kieron, Happy New Year Tina." JohnPaul didn't want to forget them as they had been such an important part of his life.
While he had been talking to himself, he found himself to be stood in a huge circle singing Auld Lang Syne, JohnPaul looked at Craig and Craig looked at JohnPaul both knowing that this was going to be their year,
