My heart is in the darkness
Axel looked around, his cat-like eyes glinting in the moonlight. Light clouds obscured the full moon's light slightly, but slowly drifted past. The red head sighed deeply and sat down on a park bench. He had been waiting for Roxas to come, but the younger boy never showed up.
My soul condemned to nothingness
Sitting alone on the roof of Castle Oblivion, Axel looked down into the large garden that Marluxia insisted on keeping. He spotted his blonde haired beauty, running around with Demyx. He managed to smile, but it soon faded as he remembered that his smile probably wasn't real.
I am a Nobody
The sun made Axel's hair look like pure fire, though it was in a pony tail. The random spikes were sticking out everywhere like they normally did. Roxas walked over to him, sitting in the grass beside the red head and watching Saix harass Marluxia about the flowers and Vexen siding with Marluxia.
"They sure now how to argue," Roxas commented, absentmindedly.
"Yeah," Axel replied, looked at Roxas's kind face.
Nobodies can't laugh
Axel smiled as the Organization piled into one of the many rooms in the Castle to watch a movie. He chuckled as Xemnas tripped over Xigbar and landed on Larxene who scream. Silence befell him quickly.
"This laugh…cannot be real…" he thought, his judgment based on what he has heard.
Cry
The morning brought seemingly sad thoughts to the red head. Sitting alone in his room, he remembered that today was his birthday. No one in the Castle remembered. Not even Roxas. Axel's heart was broken. No—Nobodies couldn't be sad. They didn't have hearts…right?
Or love
Roxas hugged Axel tightly, Axel hugged back. Roxas buried his face in Axel's chest and trembled slightly in the older man's arms.
"I'm leaving," he murmured.
"But you can't leave Roxy…" Axel complained quietly.
"No one would miss me," he replied and let go. Roxas broke out of Axel's warm embrace and ran off, tears flying from his face. Axel reached out a hand toward Roxas.
"I would…" he whispered and dropped his hand, hanging his head as his heart was broken even more. But Nobodies don't have hearts…Do they?
If that is true
Thoughts echoed in Axel's mind as he lay out on the roof once again. Looking up at the dark clouds that loomed over him, he sighed deeply.
"Nobodies can't laugh, cry, or love…But then what are all of these…Feelings?" he muttered to himself.
Why is there this pain in my chest,
Placing his hand over his heart, Axel gripped his coat over his heart.
"Why does it…hurt?" he thought. Images of Roxas entered Axel's mind.
Whenever you leave?
"This pain…is it pain? Or is it hate? Love? It's only here when you aren't…Longing? Roxas…When you think no one would miss you…" Axel said to himself, feeling rain fall onto his skin. "Did you even think," he began. A strike of lightning broke the sky, thunder giving a drum roll.
"Did you even think…about me?"
