I know, I know, you all hate me for deleting the original story and redoing it. But I had been thinking of a few things, and decided that the story needed redoing and stuff. So, I decided to do what I did when I had the son of Hestia story up, which is have the OC know Percy and be there when introduced into the world of the Gods.
The harem is the same except Sally has been taken out. So, let's get started.
Deep within the woods of Colorado, a woman sat in a small green tent. The woman was breathtakingly beautiful, had a well-built body. She has shoulder-length raven-black hair, and striking silver-grey eyes that could easily intimidate when she was angry. For clothes, she was wearing a silver tunic, but had a silver blanket covering her legs due to not having any trousers or leggings on. This woman was Artemis, the Greek Goddess of the Hunt, the Moon, Chastity and Maidenhood and in her arms was a baby wrapped in a silver blanket, this baby was in fact her son, the first ever child of Artemis.
Artemis knew that the baby should never have been born since she swore off men and romance, but now she wasn't a virgin goddess. The baby wasn't exactly a Demigod due to his father's blood. His father was in fact someone that was an enemy of the Olympians, mostly because of her father's paranoia and arrogance that had made them enemies.
'He'll be hunted by both my family and his father's enemies'. Artemis thought with a tear going down her cheek and falling onto her baby boy, who opened his eyes to reveal silver ones like her own but with a hint of his father's Orange-red to it. The boy's father wasn't exactly a mortal or even human at all, he wasn't even of the Greek Pantheon but the Christianity one sort of.
Speak of the Devil and he shall appear, a horse soon appeared with a rider on the saddle. He had pale skin, his horse looking undead and decaying with Green mist coming from the mane and hooves. The rider was not even human looking despite being humanoid, bye wore a bone-like mask that covered his face but left his orange-red eyes exposed. He had shoulder length black hair, a pair of scythes sheathed at his waist, wore a pair of brown pants but left his upper body exposed. This person's name was Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and Artemis' husband.
Death wasn't human, but a Nephilim. The Nephilim are an ancient and nearly extinct race born from a union of Angels and Demons engineered by the demoness Lilith when she created the first, Absalom. The Nephilim came into being by the hand of Lilith, who derived the first of their kind from the mingled remains of angels and demons which, in turn, triggered the mating of angels and demons to spawn them by instinct. Upon the first such being, Absalom, were all brought into existence. After a time, when enough Nephilim had been spawned and matured, Absalom led his kind on a world killing crusade. It is not known why this crusade was begun, but based on statements from Absalom, it may have been started in part out of a desire to claim a realm for the Nephilim, which was in fact the primary reason for their assault on Eden.
Further evidence of this is alluded to by Death who stated that his people were "depraved". The first victims of the Nephilim were the Ravaiim, an ancient and remarkably inventive race of craftsmen who could sculpt their own flesh, living or otherwise, into almost anything. Their destruction was quick and brutally effective, but unfortunately for them, the Nephilim had plans for them extending beyond death, for one of the firstborn generation of the Nephilim, Death, conceived of a way to turn the corpses of the Ravaiim into obscene weapons of world-ending power. Named The Grand Abominations, these weapons were so horrific that even the Nephilim used them only sparingly, keeping them a closely guarded secret and creating numerous fail-safes to keep them under control. They went on to annihilate hundreds of other realms, but after a time, four of the Nephilim grew weary of the slaughter, those four would become the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, War, Fury, Strife, and Death.
The Four made a deal with the Balance bringers, the Charged Council, an ancient body charged by the Creator, who is also known as God, Chaos, depends on the pantheon, to preserve the very fabric of the universe. Believing that the crusade of their kinsmen threatened to undo the Balance of Creation, the four approached the Council. There, they struck a deal with the Council; they would become the Council's enforcers, upholding the Balance and maintaining order in the universe, in exchange for phenomenal amounts of power. After their defection, it is known that the Nephilim crusade continued for some time, but that time was short.
The Nephilim, led by Absalom, invaded Eden and tried to take it from the first humans. The Council learned of this and sent the Horsemen to reinforce an army of angels intent on defending Eden from the Nephilim. The ensuing battle saw the slaughter of all the remaining Nephilim, primarily at the hands of the Four. As they died, their souls were collected into an amulet which Death wore around his neck, preserving their essences even as their flesh was destroyed. At some point, apparently near the end of the battle, Death met Absalom himself in single combat and defeated him. Lying on the ground, mortally wounded, the eldest Nephilim was suddenly dragged into the ground by what appeared to be a blackened pool of his own blood. Death attempted to save him, but failed, and, screaming in anguish at his actions, he collected the rest of the souls of his brethren into the amulet. After the battle, the Council instructed Death to destroy the Amulet, and with it, the souls of the Nephilim. However, Death instead entrusted the amulet to the Crowfather, who agreed to take the burden in exchange for its secrets. He would come to regret this decision, as constantly listening to the hateful psychic voices of the trapped Nephilim ultimately drove the Crowfather mad. After this, Death went to the location of the Abomination Vault, the location of most of the Grand Abominations, and sealed it with magic wards. The location of the Vault and the secrets of powering the Grand Abominations had been known only to the firstborn generation of Nephilim. With Death as the sole remaining survivor of those individuals, nobody else in creation knew the secrets of the weapons, and Death hoped to keep it that way.
But enough dallying on the past, let's get to the story. Death got off his trusty steed, Despair, his crow, Dust, flying into the tent and perching himself on a table, watching his master and his master's lover meet again.
Artemis looked at her husband with a small smile, to think she'd have gotten married to the eldest of the Horsemen. She had heard the tales and legends of the Horsemen when she was a younger goddess, and respected the Horsemen, especially Death and Fury. "Hello husband." Artemis said warmly before returning her attention to her son.
Death chuckled as he sat beside his wife and looked upon his son for the first time. To think that he, the Grim Reaper, would have fallen in love, got married, and had a child with a goddess, Strife would have laughed at the irony if he wanted to get his head ripped off by Death's scythes.
"I apologize for being late, War and I had to deal with Demons that were trying to cause havoc in Washington." Death said as he caressed his son's cheek, the boy taking it in his hand with a gurgle, making the parents laugh a little before a more somber mood took over. "He'll be hunted."
Artemis nodded sadly. "And I won't be able to see him due to the law." She looked at her husband with watery eyes. "It's not fair. I have my first child and he has to get taken from me."
"I won't let that happen." Death said firmly, taking his wife's head in his hands and making her look at him. "These laws are so stupid, none of your family even follow them, especially your father. He should be lucky the Council didn't order us to exterminate the Olympians after the Titan War. The boy won't grow up helpless and weak, Fury would kill me if I allowed that. No, each of us Horsemen will train him in the art of our weapons, War in sword, Strife in guns, Fury in whip, and me in scythes. He will also be trained in archery, and will be incredibly skilled his mother will be proud. He will know you love him."
"It's not that easy, Death." Artemis said with pain in her voice. "I can't just do whatever I want because of the laws."
"That is why I want you to visit him on every major holiday and as often as possible." Death said. Artemis considered it before nodding and looked down at her son. "How long do you have left on your 'solo hunt'?" Death was of course referring to Artemis saying to her fellow Olympians that she was going on a solo hunt, which can take approximately five months, when actually she was going there to give birth to her son, having used the Mist to conceal her pregnant stomach.
"Three months left. I'll spend the rest of that time with you and our baby." Artemis said with a smile, causing Death to have one underneath his mask
"What is his name?"
Artemis smiled as she spoke her baby pup's name. "Vincent. Vincent Rider, the son of Death and Artemis."
That's it for the first chapter. I know it was the same as the original beginning, but this seemed like a perfect end.
