Hey! Long time...no write? I've decided to rewrite this fic because honestly? My writing was horrible and I'm ashamed to say I wrote like that. I also decided to change my username btw. SO HERE IS THE FIRST CHAPTER REWRITTEN! (Yes most stuff will be similar but I've also made slight changes later on in the story)

By the way if anyone actually thinks I own Kingdom Hearts or that these music companies are real then I'm sad to say you would be incorrect…

ON WITH THE SHOW~

Of so Called Rivalries

(By: Vanikey)

Destiny Records and Oblivion Inc. were the two top companies in the music business. Rivals, naturally. Paparazzi have been recently all over Destiny Record's new star, Demyx Hale and his band. He was an uprising, slightly edgy, new singer.

(Oblivion Inc.)

The dull gray sky matched the dull gray office during this dull gray day. In all honesty, he really didn't want to be here. He had a test tomorrow and seriously needed to cram before said test. Instead his manager, Marluxia, called him to the dull gray office to talk about dull gray things that had nothing to do with him.

Who was he, you might ask? Well it depended on who you were talking to exactly. At the current moment, he was Ienzo Radke. AKA the current most popular music prodigy to the media, a quiet badboy with a mysterious personal life, and and the "hottest hottie on Earth". Apparently.

""This isn't going to be good for business, Zexion! We are going to need to come up with something big before Destiny steals the media's attention." Marluxia sneered the word Destiny. Ienzo played with his hair and pretended to listen to his manager's rant. Destiny Records, blah blah blah, new band, blah blah blah, who cares?

"Are you even listening Zexion?! This will affect your career y'know!"

"I'm sorry, what? I was too busy spacing out." he responded boredly. When could he leave? He'd been here all day and wasn't even recording anything. It was so boring. All he'd done was get fitted for a new outfit that he would be forced to wear during some concert. He could still hear the designers gushing over what they'd force him into.

Marluxia's deep blue eyes met his client's cobalt ones. "Look, I know you don't want to be here right now but we really need to do something about this. They only have one song out and it's second on the charts."

"Who cares? Let them have some fun with fame before you ruin their poor lives forever, Marluxia. Anyway, I'm leaving. I already got fitted for whatever the hell it is this time. Why don't you go complain to Riku or something?"

Marluxia rolled his eyes. "Fine, we can talk later. Go, be free." the sarcasm in his voice was a bit misleading to what he was saying. Ienzo didn't care. He got up and finally left that stupid office.

(Destiny Records)

"Ugh this isn't going to be good! You guys know we have to do something fast, before they act up." Larxene, manager of the new band Melodious Nocturne, informed her clients. "HEY! Just because you made your debut doesn't mean you can ignore me."

Axel and Demyx were playing go fish. Sora and Yuffie were braiding Vincent's hair, and Vincent was sitting, looking mildly annoyed.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were speaking, all I heard was this annoying- ow!" Axel was interrupted by Demyx elbowing him in the ribs.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Larxene, please continue." Demyx smiled innocently. She rolled her eyes.

"I was saying that we need to do something big to keep the media on us before Oblivion, those bastards, do something."

"Oblivion Inc.? The people who sponsor the one, the only, Ienzo Radke and his band Cloaked Schemer?" Demyx stated dramatically then smiled. Ienzo. He really wished he could meet the aloof artist. Ienzo was the one who inspired him to write, to sing, to do anything musically actually. He was the one who got him interested in music and made him want to start a band. The alternative music prodigy was an amazing writer and player for any kind of music. Except country apparently. To be honest, Demyx had a huge crush on him and didn't even know anything about him. Just how his music flowed and the emotion conveyed in the lyrics. It was fucking beautiful, as he would put it.

"Who gives a shit anyway? You guys are gonna kick their asses on the charts, I guarantee it. Anyway, if you had been listening you would've heard that I scheduled a small concert down by the Plaza. It'll only last an hour, maybe, and you'll be doing covers of other songs."

"Wait, tonight? When are we gonna rehearse?" Yuffie whined.

"You have some time right now." Larxene had a devilish smile one as she walked out of the room. The group sighed in unison and walked over to the rehearsal room.

They spent the entire afternoon practicing song covers and working on new songs. That night they went up for the "concert".

(Zexion POV)

Studying was boring. College was boring. The news was boring. Life was boring. Existing was boring. The young biology major flicked his pencil across his large textbook. This sucks he thought. Even more than sitting in that god-awful office. Maybe I'll take a break? Walk around, clear my mind? Yeah, that sounds good.

Zexion pushed himself off the larger dorm's floor, grabbed his favorite black hoodie, and walked out the door. When he arrived outside he found it was a cool night. A light breeze and a gentle chill along with the dark sky. Street lights kept the area bright and shined against the black night. Zexion walked aimlessly down one of the many paths and made sure to keep track of which direction he went. He didn't want to get lost, again.

Suddenly he heard loud cheers. Turning he saw a large group of people crowding around a small stage. The band had five members, based on what he saw. They began playing. Zexion had no clue what the song was nor did he care. He was too busy being captivated by that voice.

That goddamn beautiful, enchanting, amazing fucking voice.

He walked quickly over to the area with the people. God, he hated crowds and closeness and touching. But it was worth it to hear whoever the hell it was singing whatever the hell they were singing. He was entranced by the melody of the voice. So he fought through the crowd and pushed himself more towards the front. Stupid humans, can't they understand he wanted to be closerto the stage and not them? Zexion made it to a worthy spot. Not in the front, not in the middle, but in between. His breath hitched when he saw the band closer.

There was a (most likely) shorter girl (5'4?) with short black hair and wide brown eyes playing the drums. Her smile was bright and full of laughter, unlike the man next to her. He had long dark hair and...red eyes? Was that possible without being contacts? He certainly didn't look like an albino either. He was playing the piano with skill and grace. Zexion judged he was about 6'0, maybe taller. His face looked neutral, like he didn't mind being here but wouldn't mind being somewhere else. He noted though, that when the piano player looked over at the drummer, he smiled a tiny smile.

The bass player was another short character, yet taller than the drummer. He had spiky brown hair and an innocent pair of blue eyes. Skin tanner than the others and a childish look like the female playing behind him. Meanwhile the guitar player had red hair. A lot of red hair. Piercing green eyes, a tall intimidating stature, and tattoos. On. His. Face. Interesting. And then there was the singer. That fucking singer with that fucking voice.

And he was fucking gorgeous. Tall, lean, tan, and full of energy. His eyes were a cyan color and his hair was a dirty blond, maybe. Zexion still couldn't see what they looked like up close. He wasn't as tall as the guitarist or the pianist, but he wasn't as short as the other two members. His voice carried throughout the area with the help of the mic but it sounded like he didn't even need one. The music resonated in every listeners ears and buried itself into their heads.

Eventually they stopped playing and began packing up. An announcer came on the stage and thanked everyone for listening. He said something about Melodious Nocturne and Destiny Records.

Ah, so that must be the new band Marluxia is all freaked out about. Damn, they are pretty good. Hmm...wait. What are they doing?

The band hadn't left. They began walking around and talking with people. Crap. Zexion quickly put on his hood and forced his bangs to hide his face. He began to fight the crowd to get away from the area. He really shouldn't have been there. True, he wasn't Ienzo right now but that doesn't mean he couldn't get caught.

Right, about that. Zexion Harada was your average biology major. He was always at the top of his classes and rarely spoke. When he did it was usually in long boring explanations of random things that no one cared about. He had a "family" that had picked him up off the streets when he was 12 and he had friends. Well, two anyway.

Then there was Ienzo, who was technically him with color contacts, a different hairstyle, and a different life. Ienzo had a band and money and fame. He had quit college to pursue music with his friends and was always surrounded by friends and fans. He had the perfect family and life.

So basically his life was a double life cliche. Whoop-dee-freakin-doo.

(Demyx POV)

He scanned the crowd looking for someone. All of his friends were talking to some people who had shown up to watch. Demyx wasn't really sure who to talk to until someone caught his interest. A person was quickly leaving the scene. Was he nervous or embarrassed about something? Demyx was curious. He half-walked-half-jogged over to the mystery person. Which, in hindsight wasn't the smartest thing to do, but Demyx wasn't the smartest person at times. Like when he was curious, for example.

"Hi, my name is Demyx Hale. What's your name?" he made sure to put on his best , most welcoming smile to the stranger.

His entire body was completely covered. All Demyx could see was grayish blue hair that was covering his face. A black hoodie and dark blue jeans, along with black converse. The only visible part of this guy were his pale hands and part of his face. Demyx could see his lips and chin. The stranger froze and seemed unsure of what to do. Finally he spoke up.

"Um, hello." his voice was quiet and a little bit timid. "Umm...my name...it's um… it's…" his hands fidgeted and he kept swaying. "Zexion. Zexion Harada."

"That's a cool name! So, Zexion, what brings you here this evening?"

"Um. I heard a band, well you I mean… um singing. I heard singing. And I like music so...yeah. I listened. It was nice. Ok. Yup. Thanks. Bye." he turned to walked away, no doubt completely embarrassed. Demyx reached out and grabbed his wrist. He had no clue why but this guy seemed very charming to him. Demyx thought his nervousness was, well, kinda adorable.

"Wait! Um… so, did you like it? The band, I mean."

Didn't he just say it was nice? "It was very lovely and I enjoyed listening to your covers, even if I didn't know most of the songs. But, actually since you're here...I have a question for you."

"Shoot. Well, not really. I'd rather not die right now...I meant what's your question?" His face was probably red. Shit.

Zexion laughed. Demyx was definitely blushing now. "Don't worry, I have no intention of shooting you. I was just wondering...what made you want to get into the music industry?"

"Um….well….actually…" Demyx wasn't sure if he should lie or not. How would people react if they found out he only wanted to sing because of his so-called- rival? "I love writing music and playing music. Singing is basically my life. And truth be told… I was inspired to become a singer because of Ienzo Radke. Ironic, huh? Since he is kinda my rival now, apparently." he confessed and laughed nervously.

Zexion smiled. He fucking smiled the cutest smile. Dear lord that was an attractive smile. Demyx wondered what the rest of his face looked like. "Seeya around, Demyx." he waved and disappeared into the crowd before Demyx could respond.

"Yeah...I hope so. I'll be waiting."

(Destiny Records)

"Great job, everyone! It was a success. So, onto the next information, we were thinking about recording a CD and of course…" Larxene continued to blab on but for once, Demyx wasn't listening. I wonder if Zexion will show up to any other concerts we have… that'd be really cool. Demyx grinned at the thought of seeing that mysterious guy again.

(Oblivion Inc.)

Ienzo shifted uncomfortably in his dull gray seat inside the dull gray meeting room with the dull gray people. And Marluxia. He dreaded going to these meetings. People basically told him how to act and what to do and where to be. No one really knew who he was here except Marluxia and his best friend/band producer Lexaeus. Not even his bandmates knew who he really was. Riku Suzuki, the bassist, looked bored. Squall (Call me Leon) Leonhart, the drummer, looked bored. Cloud Strife, the guitarist, looked bored. And Xion Keating (the pianist) was making funny faces at people, trying to make them laugh. Ienzo stuck his tongue out at her in a playful manner and she grinned.

I wonder if that Demyx guy will have any new music coming out soon...I really liked the band's covers… and his voice. As much as I hate to say it I really want to hear it again… They had some pretty good stuff too. Ienzo put in his earbuds and put on a song he recently downloaded. The sound of a new band with a slightly edgy singer tuned out the annoying people arguing in the room.

Rewrite of first chapter….done! And it only took like…an hour….O_o of course it's really short but I'm planning on having shorter chapters for this fic.

Anyway, thanks for reading and tell me what you think? Maybe? :D

Also, sorry for any mistakes with names/spelling.
