She couldn't remember her name. It didn't matter. Mr. Bubbles recognized her without it, and all she needed to remember was that she was a Little Sister, and that she was lucky to have someone to look out for her.
Mr. Bubbles would be coming for her soon. The Sister was glad. It was becoming more and more crowded in her tunnels, soon she might not fit.
Not that that mattered, Mr. Bubbles would protect her no matter what.
The Sister hugged a ragged teddy bear that was all there was from her old life, before Mr. Bubbles and before the angels.
Oh, the angels! The angels are waiting, waiting for her. Her stomach was so empty.
When was Mr. Bubbles coming?
Bam… Bam… Bam…
He came!
The Sister crawled excitedly toward the direction of her Mr. Bubbles.
She could see him!
She leapt out of the tunnel toward him.
"Oh, Mister Bubbles! I missed you!" Joyfully, she grabbed his hand "Let's find some angels."
They didn't have to go far before she spotted one and gleeful darted toward it pulling away from the Big Daddy.
Something wasn't right. There were faces everywhere, just watching. That's not what they were supposed to do. "Mister Bubbles?" She looked at him upset. Alerted by her tone, the Big Daddy came forward threateningly.
The faces still watched. That really wasn't what they were supposed to be doing. "Mr. Bubbles will beat you." She stated. Her twelve year old face grave, but confident. "Mr. Bubbles always beats you."
Then as still as they had been a moment ago, they were all in motion, all screaming and yelling.
The Big Daddy stood in front of the sister and bellowed at them in anger. How dare they frighten his Little Sister.
"Go beat'em, Mister B." She told him and happily watched as he proceeded to do just that. She hummed and spun in circles waiting for him to finish.
"Hello, my dearie." A voice spoke softly behind her, opposite of Mr. B. She turned to face it "Are you going to give me eve? I know you have some"
"MISTER BUBBLES" The Sister screamed
The not-yet angel looked sharply at her Big Daddy "Why'd you do that? We were just playing."
The Big Daddy bellowed again and pushed towards his Sister but was blocked by the shear number of splicers. He reached out to the Sister but couldn't get to her.
"Mr. Bubbles, What's happening? What's wrong? Where are you?" The Sister turned around to find him and cried out in despair "Mr. Bubbles!"
"Mr. Bubbles! Mr. Bubbles! Where are you?" Mocked the not-yet angel, then he screamed harshly in her face "Where's my EVE?"
The not-yet angel pushed a large knife, that the Sister hadn't noticed, in her face and continued quiet again "Don't be like that! You want to give it to me!"
The Sister looked around for her Mr. Bubbles, then she laughed when she saw him charging toward her and the soon-to-be angel.
"NO!" He screamed in rage. "My EVE! WHERE IS MY EVE!" He grabbed her causing her laughter to turn to screams.
The soon angel dropped her as the Big Daddy hit him, crushing his chest.
"Mister Bubbles!" The Sister hugged the Big Daddy. "You saved me!"
Maniacal laughter filled the air accompanied by coughs and strained breathing
A crack split the air and the Sister looked at red blossoming from her chest in mild alarm, then she crumpled to the ground.
The soon angel continued to laugh weakly. "If…I don't get eve… neither do you."
The Big Daddy howled and stomped in the now angel's face.
