I used to write fanfiction all the time when I was a Freshman in High School, I was never really motivated and it didn't seem like I had the time, but now I am a Freshman in college and because I can't work yet, I'm having so much free time and I miss writing, so hopefully I can stick with this! I hope you enjoy, I am actually excited about this one!

I was sitting in my bedroom watching The Office for the 20th time when I heard a loud commotion from outside my house. I walk over to my oversized Window and came face to face with Marcel, my neighbors cat in my front yard tree. I looked down and saw my older neighbor Lucille yelling frantically for somebody to save her poor kitty. All the other neighbors must've took notice as well, cause more and more people were joining her in my front yard. Lucille then grabbed a pole from the ground and started shoving it towards Marcel. The pole came more into focus and, to my hysterical realization, she had a net from her swimming pool, and was trying to pick the cat up with it. From a distance, I heard the sirens of a fire truck, and I know Lucille was making a scene. A few moments later, not to my surprise, the firefighters came streaking down the street, probably only to find out it was Lucille...again. The trucks parked right across from my house, multiple firemen coming out. I could even see from my window the annoyed expressions on their face.

From the corner of my eye I saw my best friend Raven had joined the crowd, her face was shadowed by her hair as she was looking down at her phone, she was probably texting...Ding. My phone went off and I immediately knew it was her.

Please tell me your home. She texted me. I quickly wrote back

Yes, Looking out my window rn, Marcel is in a lot of trouble.

She laughed and looked up at my window, waving. She motioned me to come down, and went back to typing on her phone. I ran out of my room and past my mother.

"What's going on out there?" she exclaimed.

"Ms. Lucille got her cat stuck in a tree again!" I yelled back laughing. I heard sigh, and as I was putting on my shoes I added "and he's stuck in our tree" I could hear her coming down the stairs.

"He is in our tree? Why can't she put Marcel on a leash! So the fire department is outside our house?" I shook my head yes in response and went out the front door. The crowd had become packed since I left my bedroom, it's kind of a running joke in our neighborhood to watch Ms Lucille try to get her cat down, plus the firefighters were a sight for sore eyes. I walked up to Raven and stare up at the pool net swatting at Marcel.

"You think Ms. Lucille should get an electric fence or something." Raven stated.

"I don't think electric fences are for cats, I've only heard them used for dogs"

"Yeah, well, this cat needs one. One of these days the fire department is not gonna answer her phone call." She laughed "I texted Luna to come down, she's missing the best one yet. At Least Ms. Lucille came prepared with her pool net"

She laughed even more as one of the fireman gently grabbed the net from Lucille's hands. She reached down to her robe and pulled it tighter around her body in anger. "Get him down from there!" She yelled. Raven and I began to laugh some more when I heard her gasp quietly and suddenly her hand was on my wrist, her eyes glazed over. I knew what was happening and stood in front of her face, so the others couldn't see her strange expression. Her hand still tightly wrapped around my wrist.

"Raven...What do you see?" I asked quietly. Her eyes were glazed over for a few more seconds before she came back to reality. He grip slowly loosed on my wrist and she put her hands in her pockets.

"Nothing." She said abruptly.

Her eyes focused behind my head, and she quickly turned around and began to walk away. "I'll see you tonight for Orientation."

"Wait! Raven!" But she was already out of reach, her head down. A hand touched my shoulder and I yelped in surprise. My other friend Luna was standing there with a huge smile on her face. "I love the days Ms. Lucille loses her cat…." Her words slowly fade as she sees my expression. "What's wrong?" I look past her, trying to find who she saw.

"Raven just had a vision, and I don't think it was a pretty one."

"Well, I'll tell you what is pretty. That new boy over there, where did he fly in from? I don't think a new family has moved here to The Side for almost 30 years. They thought they found everyone." I roll my eyes. Of course they were ignorant enough to think they found all of them.

The Side is the downward side of the neighborhood, the downward side of the town. All the kids and parents who were chosen to live in The Side, we found out to be….special. You go down the hill we named "The Divider" and your on The Side with a capital S. If you up here when I live, its the side. Usually kids like me don't know about the kids on The Side, but my parents were doctors, and we were granted special privileges to know. The kids and parents on The Side did not have the time to learn things like medicine, so they chose three families to be their private doctors, and my parents were chosen. I am in training to be a doctor, so I get to go to school with The Side kids, my other neighbors, Sinclair and Monty, were also like me and in training. Monty was in training to be a Pharmaceutical Scientist, Sinclair was going to be an Aerospace Engineer.

I looked over in the direction she was pointing and yeah, he was pretty, maybe even too pretty. You ever see those guys you know will break your heart, that's what I was seeing in his eyes, even from the distance. His curly hair and mischievous smirk were killer, if I didn't know better, I would have thought he threw Marcel up in that tree.

"That must be who Raven saw in her vision!" I start to make my way over to him. Luna grabs my shirt and pulls me back. "Are you crazy? What are you even going to say? You don't know what she saw! Don't ruin our chances with the hot new guy….Clarke...CLARKE" I was already walking towards him, not caring about ruining my chances, Raven does not spook easy. I heard Luna running behind me to catch up. I walk up to him, and angrily find myself looking up.

"What's your name new kid?" I stiffly say.

"Well you must be the welcome committee" he smiles, I don't crack, but I feel Luna behind me melting under his smile. I elbow her.

"We haven't had a new kid in a long time" I state "Where are you from?"

Luna reaches across from me and shoves her hand out "Hi, I'm Luna by the way." He smiles again and shakes it.

"Well do you want my name first of where I am from?" He looks between us "I've never been interrogated, is this what it feels like?"

"Both" I say back.

"Makes sense, Bellamy Blake, and I am from Antarctica, there's not cities or towns there by the way, if you want me to be more specific, we lived between a huge ice cliff and…."

"You're from Antarctica" I say suspiciously

"Well why don't you ask me the third question I know you're dying to ask. I mean there is a reason why you haven't had anyone move here in 30 years." He smiles again, this time that mischievous side comes out. Only two things went through my mind: Now I know he's definitely what Raven saw in her vision, and how did he know, I knew about The Side. I knew he was egging me on, and it worked, the next I know I'm blurting out...

"What Fraction are you in?" He smiles one last time and feel Lunas fingers pinching my back, he gives me a wink, turns, and swiftly walks away. The crowd behind me cheers, as Marcel is brought down by yet another firefighter. Luna gets in front of me, right where he used to be. "Well, you ruined our chances with the new kid! You know how rude that is to ask! Fractions is not what we say anymore. It's not even accurate! How could you be saying that up here, what if someone heard you!" She rambles on and on, my mind only focused on learning more about Bellamy Blake. I roll my eyes.

"You realize that nobody follows that dumb rule but everyone in the normal Fractions, the rare Fractions love it!" I huff.

I turn away and start down the street, heading for "The Divider".

"Where are you going!" Luna yells behind me.

"Ravens house!" I yell back, walking with determination.

I hope you all enjoyed! I know its a little confusion, but I didn't wanna throw everything in one chapter, but stick with me! Please follow and review, I would love to hear if y'all like where this is going!
