Light's POV
I walked into the Taskforce Headquarters calmly and with even steps on the clean, linoleum floor. Taking a seat at my desk, I booted up his computer.
L wasn't there. I figured that he was in the kitchen to get a slice of strawberry shortcake or some other sugary sweet thing.
The computer loaded and I entered my password. Once logged in, I checked my mail. There was one. I clicked on it.
The computer blinked off.
"Huh?" This was weird. I clicked the power button. No response. I clicked it again and still nothing.
I went to get up to try and fix it, but it flashed back on to reveal an entry.
I see you.
What the hell? I looked around. Nothing. The only thing watching me was the cameras. I turned back and was surprised to see more.
I'm in the kitchen.
And then it closed off.
Creepy… Nevertheless, I made my way to the kitchen, alert.
Once in, there was a note on the counter.
I seeeeeeeee yoooouu.
…Where's L. it's probably him.
A noise from the lobby startled me. I ran in.
The table was moved and a slab of wood was on it. Engraved was:
I am everywhere.
"Of course you are. There's cameras, you nitwit. That's why you can see me; and you know this place better than I do."
A rolling sound came from the stairs. I turned to see a ball coming towards me. It was painted.

I walked upstairs cautiously.
A tablet was in the middle of the hallway. It said:

"No duh-ow!" A rock hit my head. I turned to see graffiti on the wall.

I turned and walked into the bedroom.

A huge cake was on top of L's and my bed. I grabbed the card.
Peek-a-boo.
The cake exploded.
And out popped L.

He slowly scooped up some cake and started eating it.
"…Why?"
He looked up. Before I could stop him, he leaned forward and kissed my cheek.
"….."
He pulled back and with my mouth already open from shock, he put some cake in it.
I nearly choked, and had no choice than to eat it.
He slowly smiled.
"…Light-kun has finally eaten cake."
He leant forward until his face was an inch away from mine.
"Happy birthday, Light-kun." He then pecked my cheek.
