One more moment
If there was one regret that Hiro ever had in his life, it would be letting his brother shake him off and rush towards his own demise. He spent weeks not moving, not eating, wishing he didn't exist. His friends, no... at that time they were Tadashi's friends, tried their hardest to cheer him up. For a long time, the world stood still. And for a long time, Hiro though he would never be happy again.
But Baymax changed that. After taking out Callaghan he felt relieved. For a while he missed the puffy marshmallowy robot, but he soon rebuilt him, just as his brother had done. It felt impossible. Just like moving on from Tadashi's death. So many "what ifs".
After seeing the portal, being inside it Hiro couldn't help but to wonder. Is this what it might be like inside of a time portal?
What was a few years of work to have his brother back? Surely he could figure something out. He could started it shortly after finishing Baymax.
Endless, sleepless, ineffectual, nights. Nights of sleeping upsidedown on a couch. Nights that weren't even nights, for night moved to day so quickly. But still he poured hours upon hours into it.
"Hiro?" Tadashi gave him stern look from his side of the room. His feet up on his bed, hat on the nightstand.
No way! He thought. He didn't even remember finishing it. "Tadashi?"
"What are you doing here?" His brother questioned.
"I came to bring you back with me!" Hiro said going to grab Tadashi's blueish green jacket arm, having to weave his way though his slightly messy floor.
"Why?"
"Because I miss you. We all miss you."
Tadashi gave a light laugh. "I'll be at school tomorrow. I just needed a little break."
"What?"
"Was it Gogo that sent you up? Or Honey lemon?" The older brother stood from his bed.
"Wait." Hiro pouted.
"Yes?"
"Want if something happens? What if I can never see you again?"
"Well, little brother, that's a strange question to ask so suddenly."
Hiro looked down at the floor with his dark brown eyes wide, waiting for the rest. "What should I do?"
Tadashi grabbed his hat. "I wouldn't dwell on it."
"But.."
"After all, if you came and saved me from that fire, you never would have found that girl."
"Wait you..."
Tadashi walked over and put his hat over Hiro's messy hair. "Another moment to be spent with you would have been great, but it's not worth the life of another."
Hiro's eyes opened as the beam of light hit his face. He shot up from where he had rolled to, on the floor.
"I'm glad I could have another moment."
Blah.
